Right, if I am reading correctly, the four is 2007 and the five 2002.
Above there are two separate posts.
One of the four, one of the 5. Three pictures each.
All I know is when I started getting into rhapsodys, the razor was already discontinued. Might be that 07 is the last year?

I don't think that serial number means 2007. I'm certain they were out of production by around 2002 as that was when I joined the Dean family and they weren't being made then.

Edit to add: I believe the only Dean serial numbers that show the year are on the USA made instruments, and that is stamped into the wood.

OK , I'll play too ..This 2003 ? cranberry Razor NT (Korea: serial E03) arrived today , Mine has some a few random frets that buzz , Overall it is very clean with just some normal minor surface playing scratches , Looks great but just not yet sure if it's a keeper for me , I'll set it up and see if it grows on me and if not , I'll offer it up ? This was just another total impulse buy after reading about these basses ..

Back on post 1920 I posted a picture of my new Dean Edge 3 in Silverburst and I said I would get back to you later on it after I had tried it out for a while. Well let me just say that I really ended up liking the bass so much, this happened:
Dean Edge 3.jpg

These basses have a ton of volume, a ton of growl and are very punchy. The volume is very comparable to my G&L Tribute M2000's which is remarkable because the G&L's are 18 volts while the Deans are 9.

Yes I am a Dean fan as I also own 2 Rhapsodies, 2 Vendettas and an A/E Exotica and although I already knew I would like the Dean Edge 3 from trying it before, I now feel stupid for not getting them earlier. I'll probably wait till Christmas time to take them out on a gig, but I can assure it is very tempting to take them out this week.

I think you are going to like the razor nt best of all over time...
Would like to hear your impressions once you get into it.
My new old Trans Red Razor NT arrived and it is super clean but needs a set up and adjustments as I'm getting random fret buzz as well as an annoying rattle/vibration from my bridge area , First off I'd say a truss rod tweak for starters and a check of the bridge for any loose adjustment screws , etc, Bass sounds good and has lots of sustain , I immediately noticed the difference of the neck through design , I hear the notes but also "feel" the notes too , Still not sure it's a keeper and have a few more days ( musicgoround 7day return policy) to decide if I want to spend the $ to have it professionally dialed in or return it , This was another of my many impulse buys, In the last few months I got back into playing the bass as well as going nuts buying up bass guitars , So I really got my hands full for a while

Yes, previously I had the impression that yuo have a few basses already. And noted your smarts when it comes to knowing what works, what you like. What I was getting at in my comment was the shape. I had been used to fenders and rhapsodies. The razor was a noticable slim body with which to sling around. When I play, I do a lot of moving around and there was a particular time when I was impressed with the sleek razor. So that always stuck with me. My 4 string is just right set up right and new old stock. Happy with that. My 5 string was set up by a tech, but not to my liking, so I lowered the action. Neither is a fret buzzer. I've set the 5er to EADGC and that's working well.
I like it em to have sold of my amber rhapsody Q4...

I agree it is one very sleek slimmed down shape that is light and easy to handle , like no other bass for sure , Jury still out if it's a keeper for me - see ya

update , I've returned the recently purchased Trans Red quilt top Razor NT 4 string (seen in post#1967) back to musicgoround online in wilkes barre pa , I felt it needed more than just a truss rod adjustment and maybe a spot fret leveling , etc @ random fret buzz along with some strange bridge/saddle rattles + vibration, More than I wanted to undertake , So if you are looking for a Razor NT knowing it'll need attention it'll probably be reposted online sometime after the 16th when it should arrive , Just thought I'd share that (note: I am not selling this just alerting the group of it's upcoming availability and am not affiliated with musicgoround)

It does sound like it was going to be a money pit of sorts. Don’t blame ya. Sure was pretty though...
I almost had the cherry impulse on the nt back in the day.

I was not willing to give up on my favorite rhapsody. I bought a whole guitar just for a neck since they were no longer available when that drunk guy fell over on the guitar rack. They offered to repair this...
I couldn’t have that!

I picked up this today. I think it 90's 6 string Dean Edge 6 string. It has passive EMG-HZ pickups and a volume/tone/pickup selector switch. Electronics work fine. The frets may need a slight dressing but look good. Tuners are functioning. A few scratches on the back and that is all. Both truss rods work but the saddles are floored because the bridge has bent over time. I found a drop in replacement at ALL PARTS for $30.

I attached a picture of the bass.

So far I picked it up for $199 and possibly $30 more for the bridge. I do have the option to return it. I just want to get some more information on it. Body and fret-boards mostly.

Thanks
