You say you think that sound is the Deep Impact, or at least that it's similar to one of the sounds they can dial-up?

Hmm... it's digital. Not that I'm an anti-digital guy, but I've already got a EH Microsynth, and I dig the analogue sound. Would a Deep Impact be of any service to me, or is it just another cold digital synth?

I have both and use both for different things. The Deep Impact is digital but it sounds nice and phat not at all harsh or thin sounding. The EH MicroSynth is more analogy sounding to me and a bit more controllable but it is one sound at a time and no true bypass and kinda fragile so I use mine for recording only. The Deep Impact is built like a tank, has true bypass and has 9 programmable sounds and tracks like a dream so I use it for live stuff and for recording. The sounds I use most live are a moogy bass synth sound, a nice round octaver and an almost organ pedal sound.

I called zZounds and they said NOS. They're excited to have them and don't know why the price is so low.

These arent reissues, they're NOS. So the old prices will still stand. If i was in america, right now i'd be buying 4 or 5 to put on ebay in a few weeks and make myself a tidy tidy profit.
