I didn't watch the whole thing. Why? It was INTERESTING for literally a few seconds. So then I tapped the bar at the bottom to fast forward a minute or so and it sounded exactly like the beginning. Again....slightly interesting.

That was my experience, too. Watched a littleb jumped forward a bit and got more of the same, quit. Boring. Here's my 5 words.

I shudder to think what many of you would think of Liszt or Rachmaninoff... Which I hear as an influence in Evan Brewer's compositions for sure.

It would be very interesting to hear him work up Liszt's Transcendental Etudes.

Rachmaninoff is great music that has stood the test of time. Unlike what is in the video. Just because someone is an influence on this player does't in any way indicate he is capable of making music people want to listen to.

another sh1tty nonmusical slap video...theres my 5 words. I love slap and pop when its musical and part of a full band(alain caron, marcus miller, larry graham). But these solo bass videos I normally shut them off right after I click on them although there are a few exceptions i see on notreble sometimes

If there was some MUSICAL value - Melodic, Harmonic, Rhythmical, etc...- I would call that player a
"Banjo-sist" as Banjo (technique) player on the Bass guitar; otherwise,
it's an excellent method to attract some youtube viewers.

I kind of dig it. With that being said, i get the criticism.
Its kind of like hitting the uncanny valley of bass playing if you mix all the comments together. Attracted and disgusted at the same time.

So I based my earlier opinion on audio heard through my phone speaker. Obviously not a good way to judge tone. I just got home and listened again through proper speakers. It's worse. Not only is the musicality of this completely absent and his tone is horrific, but his timing is off and his playing is sloppy. This sucks.
