Did greenboy just kill the Fearful ?

I am sure the authorized guys building the Fearless et al would be happy to build you a Fearful T3W - and as explained above the kits and plans are readily available for the DIY inclined.
As such, I reckon all the drama left in the matter is here on TB coming from folks who seem to feel they are owed something.

I feel spoken too, so speaking for myself: Nobody owes my something. You guys helped me out a lot. I hoped i could join a community without knowing its customs and without realising that it was almost gone already. Bad timing on my side.

Indeed, for this reason, when I build a speaker box, I don't cut all of the parts before assembling them. Rather, I cut the first couple of pieces, glue them together, re-measure, cut the next piece, and so forth. This makes up for the crazy thicknesses of the materials, but it's also a way to make up for small errors in my cuts.
Wow, the site is gone now? Sorry I just saw this thread. I bought a fEARful 12/6/1 a few years ago from Speaker Hardware. It was a Flat Pak and I still haven't even started on it. I think I will pull it out from where I have it stored and open it up and see what I can do. I think the crossover came so that I could build it myself. I hope someone here can help me out if I run into any issues?

I'd get hold of Speaker Hardware , they still sell the kits so they should have the plans . You bought it there so they should help .
@Drummerboy2 There are plenty of people here who can and will help you with your build. There are a few detailed build threads on here where you'll find all sorts of help and ideas and many of those people and others will be happy to answer any questions you have. The plans have been posted earlier in this thread along with the pdf of the various true 3 way crossovers. Everything needed to complete a build is still readily available. The internet never forgets.
I've got most of the parts for a 15/6/1 but covid has shut down all my local timber merchants so I haven't had the bits for the box cut yet but with vaccines being rolled out here I'm hoping to get it done this year.

Thank You for the reply and info. I got side tracked today talking with a neighbor. I will pull the boxes out and do a dry fit first like that video showed, there is still I may need to know and help on. I see the posted with the plans and other things. I also went out to the Speaker Hardware and saw they still offer it there.
I really need to build this cab, I just got side tracked and actually forgot I had it stored away. I should have built this before I recently bought my Hartke HyDrive 210 cab.

Update: Dave Green gave me a call yesterday and we had the usual long and rambling chat. He simply felt that the cost/benefit equation of maintaining the forum didn't pencil in any longer, he has basically retired and is greatly enjoying that. As far as what's already been said about the plans and authorized builders, there's nothing new to report.

It still seems a little odd that he left the greenboy website up but removed all the fearful pages and left the fearless pages. As long as he doesn't mind us sharing the fearful plans elsewhere then it doesn't matter other than convenience of finding said plans.
I also wish him the best and thank him for producing and publishing the fearful plans.

I remember when it all started as I'd been using a 3 way cab for my bass for years before that; it was just one of my small PA cabs repurposed and sounded way better than anything I could find commercially, but I copped a lot of crap from some people because "that's not how bass cabs are constructed".
Though I don't need it, I'm going to design and construct some new cabs for myself along similar lines incorporating what I've learnt in speaker design in the intervening period, though they'll be passive, not active DSP based like the others. It'll be a 3 way top box (15" based) with a vertical 2x15 in the same form factor that I can add underneath if I need more SPL or want the look. Undecided on drivers except the 15s because I have literally hundreds to choose from in my shed.
I am curious. What is Dave Green's professional background in loudspeaker design? I searched a bit on the internet but couldn't find anything. I am a very happy owner of a couple of Fearless F12 cabs.

He also started a mega thread before this one, on modding the Carvin, three way PA cab, the LS1503, which came a short while before he released his own designs.
Sounds like it’s time to revive and update the fEarful Wiki on Talkbass to include the plans, crossovers, etc. Many of us have save off the info and built cabs (myself included with a 15/6/1 T3W and 2 12/6 cubes). In fact from the current Wiki:

His professional background was more in audio video production and as a performer on effected and/or MIDI based horns. When he ported to playing bass he found the state of the art in full range speakers to be a bit lacking for his own needs, as many of us did at that time. Going to a DIY solution was never his first choice, but once he started things just snowballed.
Am I remembering correctly that rolling the then new Eminence speakers in Carvin PA cabs for bass use helped kick off everything?

In terms of TB awareness, yeah. But that was just a stopgap proof of concept deal, because Dave actually doesn't love building cabs and the Carvin was close enough in internal volume to make a good quick and dirty test bed. It was definitely another step in the evolution though. A few of us had been discussing using other drivers well before the Kappalites came out, including Dave Green, Alex Claber, Skip Fantry, and maybe Duke, but AFAIK I'm the only one who actually followed through on the BMS tangent that Dave hipped me to. And I'm still using a pair of them to this day actually.
