Digitech bp355 patch ideas

Here's another patch idea I came up with. this patch has a tech 21 vt bass sound with a little more grit.

VT bass grind

Fretless/wah: off
Compressor: cscomp---45---30---80
Distortion: ts808---40---50---80
Amplifier(amp a): ampeg svt---svt8x10---50---80
Amplifier(amp b): ampeg b15---ampeg1x15---50---70
EQ: warm---4---2000---3---5---0
Noise gate: on---40---0---0--80
Chorus: off
Delay: off
Reverb: off
Expression: volume

Trust me, you want to use this patch. Put this one on your BP355. Tried it last night at rehearsal and the band went crazy for it. Now, it's going to be used at the show this weekend. Great job Crystalman!

Thanks, medford bassman. glad the patch worked out for you. I was thinking of buying the digitech bp355 once again to create more patch ideas for the multi-effects processor. and also for those requesting patch ideas much like my zoom b3 patch ideas thread.

Hi Guys - this might be a bit more challenging for you. I need to replicate a sound for a song we're playing by JJ Burnell of The Stranglers. It's from a song called No More Heroes and it's the short G Minor riff he starts the song with.
I'm not sure if he is using an overdrive pedal or what. I've been through most of the distortion pedals on the B3 and can't really get anything close.
Anyone got any ideas - Many thanks ...

This sounds more like a bright tube amp sound. perhaps this patch might do the trick.

Fretless/wah: off
Compressor: cscomp---45---30---80
Distortion: sparkledrive---25---50---70---80
Amplifier(amp a): marshall master volume---eden4x10---30---90
Amplifier(amp b): sunn---eden4x10---50---70
EQ: bright---3---1700---4---5---2
Noise gate: on---40---0---0--80
Chorus: off

Reverb: off
Expression: volume

Give this patch a try and see if it works out for you. that's a pretty crazy video by the way. it reminds me of the animation from monty python. if you also own a zoom b3 and need to duplicate that sound, you can ask for a patch request over at the zoom b3 patch ideas thread.

hey crystalman85 why don tou just create .bp355 files in order to download them direcctly yo the bass processor? this is a great idea you have. keep it going!

I once tried to attach a .bp355 file here, and it was not accepted. I had to "disguise" it as a txt file, so members had to download it, and then change the extension.
But I agree that it would be the best way.
On another hand, if you read more comments by Crystalmann85, you will discover that he does not have a bp355 anymore and he is doing all this mentally, so in his particular case, he cant send .bp355 files.

Truthfully, I have no knowledge on that downloading thing. as I've mention on another post, I post all patch ideas here on talkbass. I am familiar with the google download thing. ozzygreg once did something like that on the zoom b3 patch ideas thread. other than that, I have no idea how to do those things. as oly spart mentioned, I couldn't send .bp355 files. I have no idea how. the least you can do is to look up this entire thread and see which patch interests you the most. that's pretty much the point of this thread. for members try out patches and post some patch ideas here. they can choose a patch idea they like and if they want to, they can adjust the settings to their liking. thanks for the compliment on my thread and sorry I couldn't do the download thing.

True, I have come up with patches mentally. even though I no longer own a digitech bp355, I still come up with nifty patch ideas simply by looking at the list of effects, amp, and cab models from the downloadable manual. and to tell you the truth, I'm surprised that this thread keeps coming up once in a while. I do plan on buying the digitech bp355 once again to come up with even more patch ideas and do my best on duplicating certain sounds. that way, I will come up with more patch ideas than I did before when I didn't own one. but I am glad the everyone digs the patch ideas that I came up with. so I will be purchasing one real soon and more patch ideas will be posted.

Crystalman85, Thank you for all the patches you posted here.
I'm trying to get Nathan East tone. I have a bass with double humbucker mics, I could come close but it would be great if you could send some preset about it.

I would assume that nathan east has a scooped clean sound and gets his sound from his signature yamaha basses(which contains jazz pickups). not quite sure if this patch would work with your bass, but give it a shot and see if it works out for you.

Fretless/wah: off

Thank you very much Crystalman.
I thought his bass had double humbucker pickups, But I have 2 other basses with single coils so I can try with them too. Ine has Kent Armstrong, and the other one are Jazz bass pickups.

There is something that I dont understand here:
Compressor: digitech comp---45---70---30---40---70 the lowest number for the X Over parameter is 50Hz
and here
EQ: scoop---3---1895---2---4---1 here I miss some parameter so I assumed that the numbers correspond respectively to
Bass - Mid Freq - mid level - treble level -presence , I'm I right?

The compression settings are sustain, tone, attack, crossover, and level. The eq is actually bass, midfq, mid-range, treble, and presence.

I've set it to Max, otherwise (say 50) there were too many low end as this parameter is expressed in Hz.
BTW I had a closer sound to Nathan East with the bass that has humbuckers pickups.
I checked Nathan East bass specs and it is equipped with Alnico V-Stack pickups, so their appearance is of a single coil Jazz Bass type but they are Humbuckers.

Thank you for the patch, it works perfectly, really a beautiful sound.

Glad it worked out for you. I would of figured that those amp models would work out. once I purchase the digitech bp355, I will come up with more patch ideas.

Here's a new patch idea I came up with. this patch duplicates a clean swirling flanger sound that resembles a mooer eleclady flanger pedal.
