Hey guys. Sold the NG2 and got a "regular" Combustion. If anyone still cares, I have a few things to share.
First, both models are clean and clear. The Nolly is more aggressive like a stingray, but we knew that. The combustion is a nice, refined instrument with an even voice and musical sounding electronics. Finish and setup is immaculate just like the NG2. The series mode has a different tone, and that one is the aggressive one. Like jazz bass with the gain turned up. Like a little tubby fatness in the tone. I'd probably use the parallel mode the most. I noticed that the neck, while several pieces laminated, it is also quartersawn. It was also interesting looking at the pickup routing. With a pickguard swap, it would be easy to mod the front pickup location to the NG2 and back. The electronics cavity is clean. The ash is nice and not too heavy. Hope you all enjoy!
