Dingwall Owners Club

Not sure if I made it official, but I did change my order...

D-Bird Standard has been replaced with an ABZ4/3 in Indigoburst. I also changed the Trans White 5/3 to Midnightburst. And I ordered an FBass BNF5 fretless.

I, literally, can't buy anymore gear for the next two years

...unless I can get it from Sweetwater! :bag::whistle::D

Well after a couple of weeks of honeymoon time (we were alone on an island somewhere) I’m quite happy to say that there was a very happy ending to my above post.
A very fine gentleman from Canada’s beautiful west coast responded to me with a opportunity that I did not anticipate getting.
I have not had a Bass gear deal that felt so naturally right as this one. (You changed my life with this a bit, Bruce, so thanks for that)
So I’ve been a bit slow with pics but here are a couple.
For the curious, DG TC in it.
I’m ecstatic. All the Superlatives apply.
I don’t know what I did to deserve such an awesome Bass (well I sold a bunch of stuff to make it happen) but I’m tickled.

Congrats to you sir!!!!
B E A Utiful!!

Question though. DG TC you say?
Is it full on active? Or do you somehow have a push pull A/P with it? Very curious about this?
Was it put in aftermarket?

I'm so torn about whether to go for a vintage burst DBird standard or the two tone black colour. I have some Warwick basses which are a natural wood colour so I'm thinking may I should go for the black. But then the vintage burst is sooo damn nice. 1st world problems eh?
The proper first world solution to that problem is to get one of each!

I think all the colors are gonna be neat. I decided for myself for the Vintageburst. It was the one where I kept pulling pics up to look (and still do). For me, 2nd choice was the Blue to Purple Colorshift but Vintageburst won out.

How long does it take to build a new Z once started? A week?

Also, I understand Sheldon is building a new factory now. So delivery times will fall from 14 months to a few weeks? When does that start?

I would expect it takes more like a few months with all the manufacturing processes, painting, curing etc. It's not a quick process. Even way back when the factory wasn't slammed you still had a 6-9 month wait.

I think considering he still has to appropriately staff the facilities it’ll take a bit longer then that. It is my understanding the new facility is a Chinese made processing facility while the other shop continues on the domestic. I’m probably wrong but I believe this is what I heard. Perhaps this will open things up more so for custom work/mods and repairs.

I also have to guess that a Z build is probably a 3-4 month build time all said and done.

Remember. We don’t want them just slamming these this out. You can’t rush perfection. Let them take their time and do er right.
