Sheldon probably couldn’t have waited any longer with the new facility or he woulda been hooped with the recent NAMM announcements. As he ramps up supply I bet demand has exploded.

If that's your desired timeframe, my friend, I'd probably suggest ordering it now. I think, in the best-case scenario, you'd be looking at 12-month wait, which puts us in May 2019 which fits what you want. If the 18-month lead time is more accurate, which I'm guessing it is, now you're looking at a possible November 2019 delivery. I'm hoping for an August 2019 delivery, but that's 16 months, so, we'll see...

edit: Yeah, I'm with @AB Nate , you might wanna call them TODAY! LOL!

I placed an order for a z in October and was quoted 18 months. Hopefully the wait time hasn't increased since then.

I couldn't decide so I got both. I have used these in studios but have never owned either. These are also great as preamps for live sound. I played a gig with a borrowed Millinnia last weekend and it blew my mind how much fuller my low end was, and how velvety smooth the highs were. I'm hooked. Combined with my Z3 and the Tone Capsule...absolute sonic perfection.

Well after all that I went and put a deposit on the aquamarine metal flake colour! I decided to go with something that stands out from the rest of my basses. Early 2019 is the estimated time of arrival, looking forward to it

When these were announced I believe it was a "maybe we will do this color if people like it enough". I saw some comments from folks who didn't like it as well as comments from folks who did, maybe even 50/50 on the comments.
In the real world of actual orders, I am seeing a 3 to one preference for the Aquamarine.

Are you running it through the front or the return of the FX loop? I don’t know much about the Forte, so I wasn’t sure if it had an FX loop...

Use the two pickups closest to the bridge, and emphasize the low mids on the preamp.

Yeah, it was originally listed for $4k locally which was a little optimistic. I think it's a bit of a steal at what $1150USD but I just picked up a Super J 5 (i know, pics) from here so I really don't need more right now.
