Dingwall Owners Club

Just plain alder? It looks like it's burled, or quilted, or something.

It does look very different from different angles. It's beautiful.

Sorry. The body is alder and the top is caphor burl with a wenge contrast. I just wanted to show you the contrast. Assuming our body will be ash. The alder is more yellow in comparison to ash.

Totally off topic, but we briefly touched on this the other day, and I thought y'all might like to see my "other" multi-scale instruments :D

1) Bosendorfer 225 Strauss (7'4") grand piano
2) Venus model 75 concert grand pedal harp

Yes, the body will be ash/ash. I don't care so much about the grain/coloration of that but I expect it will all be red when it's done.

You've reminded me that I really wanted a Z1 but was convinced to upgrade because Z3 holds more resale value. Not that I plan to sell it. I don't like the idea of routing out the topwood for a pickup I don't want.

Indeed. I agree. Being a jazz bass and buying it to Be a jazz I opted for the traditional pick up option. It isn’t a “theone” be everything bass.

I feel 3 pick ups on a Z only make sense also.

In the interest of fiscal responsibility (or should I say, "my credit card balance is what?!?!?!?!) after buying both the Dbird and some other new gear, my NG-2 4 string is in the classifieds if you are interested. LINK

Just a hunch but..... No!?!?

What did you do? Lol

I was taking photos of the tone capsule wiring for Dingwall (weird volume issue; active is 4-5dB quieter than passive) and the bass was lying on its front. While I was there I checked the battery voltage again and pulled the volume knob out just to see if there was any change between active and passive, and it came straight out.

Maybe I just found the weird volume issue...

You may have. I dunno. :0 Is that that ABHS 6 with the DG that wasn’t factory?
