Behold the super clean rewire job by Mo... I believe he just used the 6 pos rotary available on the Stew Mac website. I know nothing about wiring but I think it would have to be wired in place.

You are correct. There's no way to do a harness for this, you'd have to wire it in place. I'm surprised there's no Neck/Bridge series setting. That's one of the pickup positions I find most useful.
When I got my NG3, I did try a 'reverse 3X' which had neck/middle series, but found it to be too high output and too muddy to be useful in a live setting. I generally live in the classic Z2 Bridge/Middle series position with that bass. If I default from a 'series' setting, it's to the parallel neck/bridge. For some reason that one seems to work really well at outdoors shows v. indoor venues. Single pickup options seem to work really nicely for driving envelope filters. I don't know why that is, but my experience is that neck solo or bridge solo just work better when trying to get a good filter tone.

My NG will be wearing Paysons, I reckon...
