I've been saying that as well. Not going to happen though, as much as I would love to.

Not cheap but cheap for a specd out Z like that. I haven’t priced one out in about 17 months but prior to that they were increasing roughly 10% per year as far as I could tell

Wenge neck: $540

Total: $7600.

That's 2017 pricing. I know they went up in 2018. I also know it'd be what, a minimum of 18 month wait, if not 24 months+ now. And Dingwall basses hold their value pretty well, so, the price seems pretty good to me (~31% off).

Yup. Those and the glock 3 band are a normal Z spec.
That’s why the DGTC is a minor upgrade expense.

I honestly don’t know how that is priced either but I’ll be able to tell you soon.

I just ran into some unexpected expenses. Otherwise I'd probably be buried with this bass. More photos (and price) in the classifieds.

I can't believe you're selling it - I really feel for you if your situation is dire enough that you would move this on. It's a work of art and I've admired it for a long time.

Nah, isn't the appropriate question actually "Why would I do a kitchen remodel when this bass is available?" Methinks you need to get your priorities straight!

Anyone use a Fretwrap on their Dingwall? I’m using a cheap scrunchy right now but would like to upgrade. Particularly interested in which ones fit 5 and 6 strings and if they can be pushed all the way back past the nut. In my head I keep imagining that since the Fretwrap is straight that it would still interrupt the low strings when pushed back.

How do you clean your strings?

You can just wash your strings in the sink with dishwashing liquid - been doing it for 20 years. I use D'addario Prosteels - they go back to new sounding. I can get 4-5 months out of them.

*You need a couple of inches of hot water, with just enough dishwashing liquid to put suds in the water. (not to make the water greasy/filmy)
*Take 1 string off your bass - put in the water, put some suds/bubbles onto a steel wool scourer, scrub up and down the string a few times. Dry off the string, put it back on - repeat. - If it doesn't sound new - wash it again.

My hands sweat when I concentrate, So if i'm playing a bit I'll do this once a week.
- Told this secret to all my students, and we all save a lot of money.

That’s pushed all the way up.
I don’t have lot of long open Bs and have never found it to be an issue.
It’s for a 5 string on a five string. I haven’t tried it on a 6.
