I use the Gruvgear ones. These come in 4 sizes, Small, Medium, Large, XLarge. I have two of the Large sized ones, in blue (SKU is FW-1PK-BLU-LG). They fit pretty nicely on the 5, and while they fit over all of the strings on a 6, I feel like it doesn't quite mute as well on it. It could be that I just need to tighten it a smidge to help. I think an XL would've been too bulky, so I'm happy with the L even on my 6 - it takes care of any ringing I have, which is all I ask for.

Is there a problem with changing the preamp on a Dingwall regarding the rotary switch? I dont fancy the aguilar preamp and want to try a glockenklang which comes with a blend knob.

Not at all. I've changed mine around a bit before settling on the Glock going forward Not sure WHICH glock you're looking at, but you'll ditch the blend knob.

Anyone use a Fretwrap on their Dingwall? I’m using a cheap scrunchy right now but would like to upgrade. Particularly interested in which ones fit 5 and 6 strings and if they can be pushed all the way back past the nut. In my head I keep imagining that since the Fretwrap is straight that it would still interrupt the low strings when pushed back.

I use it. No issues for me with what you imagine.

I have a question regarding my Dingwall NG3 5-string version. I am trying to replace the pickup selector (it had a D-Bird selector installed when I bought it, which is quite inexplicable to me). I recently ordered a 3x Rotary Selector from Dingwall, together with its wiring diagrams. However, I am not sure which one I should follow (in the attached file, you can see there are two possibilities: Series and Parallel) in order to get the right configuration, which is the one you can see in the first file I attached (bridge, bridge+middle series, bridge+neck parallel, neck).

Those series/parallel refer to coils within each pickup and not to what you need to put the pickups in series/parallel with each other.

Here’s the wiring that’s actually inside a dbird 3x switch and an example of how to get jazz parallel as well as dbird 3x by wiring a custom 6 way from stew Mac.

both arrangements will give you exactly what you ask for. One will have the coils inside each pickup in parallel. One willl have them in series. This is unrelated to how the pickups are connected to each other.

Bought this beauty last month I found the aguliar preamp too boomy on the lows and too bright on the highs, simply too much. A 2-band glock is on the way.

I sold a super J5 to fund this one, I am more into slim basses and couldn't get the afterburner series out of my mind no matter how much I liked the sound of the super. This one feels perfect, so smooth. Really looking forward to the glock, hopefully it will make the bass sound more clean than the aguilar and since the treble pot works like a classic tonecontrol I might go passive with it.

I guess I feel lucky changing my strings maybe once a year!

HA HA, me too! Sometimes a bit sooner, but not usually. I do consistently wipe down my bass/strings if I am sweating.
I used to boil my strings but always found they were good for only one night after that. I consider the alcohol thing to be just too much trouble. If I need new strings I will put new strings on; no alcohol, no tube, no mess, not another thing to have to keep up with - simple.
