Which bass is which? A comparison.

Joining the club. This is my first new bass in years and beat out Spector, Warwick and a Zon Sonus Special. I’ve owned and played all of these before so I kind of knew what I’d be getting but went with the NG3 after a ton of positive reviews and loving the tone on the videos I’ve watched.

So far I really like this bass. The B is absolutely incredible. I love the voicing of the EQ and the feel of the bass. The Darkglass EQ is mid centric as opposed to your typica B/M/T joint. The 3 pickups may be a pic excessive as there are maybe 2 settings I love and the rest are just kind of variations on that goodness. The fanned frets are a non issue. I’m loving this bass so far and , more importantly, my wife approves! I’ll post more thoughts in a couple days.

You are gonna freak when you play that Z! The Dingwall Z is the single best bass I have ever played in my life.

See? This is the sort of thing that has me vibrating in place until Tuesday. I can't wait!

Yeah, as much as I love the aesthetics of the DW knobs, I really like the quick visual the Sadowsky knobs give me. They’re also machined extremely well.

Yeah, as much as I love the aesthetics of the DW knobs, I really like the quick visual the Sadowsky knobs give me. They’re also machined extremely well.

I put them on a few of mine as well.

GC had one of the newer versions of this bass, which had wider Bartolini soapbars. It was only $100 less than new and I told my friend that had it been closer to $700 I would’ve snagged it. Well, this one was on Reverb for less than $700, free shipping. So it’s gonna get shipped to a FedEx store in LA near where I’m staying.

That's a great deal! I actually think the old ones are better. The narrow pickups are from the Grooveline series and are killer for OEM.

Thank you all for your comments about my new ABZ. I really wasn’t looking for one but when I saw that transwhite, I knew I was in trouble. That and the fact it had the DG pre and wenge neck was the capper.
