Dingwall Owners Club

Too funny! I'd say this bass is the most real of all my Dingwalls! It has seen the most use (by its original owner only), and is also the most substantial in terms of weight (10.375 lbs.) and sustain. It punches like George Foreman, and is tied for first place with the green/yellow one for being the most beautiful. When you pick it up, you can get lost just looking at it and almost forget that you actually picked it up to play it. But then when you strike that first note, the ear-to-ear grin sets in, and you say, "Yeah, that's what I'm talkin' about!"

I recently purchased a Ken Smith Elite 6 which took a sizable dent out of my disposable income. (I should also mention that that was your fault John :) ) If I was flush I'd buy that "beast" (Sheldon's label) back in a heartbeat. It's THUNDEROUS!

None of that helps when staring at the fazillionty option Dingwall spec sheet.
This is true - that is one of the things Kiesel does really well. If you're interested in seeing what they can do, their photo gallery is massive and really inspiring. I was considering one of their AW5s for a while and you can look at thousands of their guitars online.

I really wish they'd post the names, addresses, and social security numbers of their owners as well. Searching Reverb, Talkbass, and eBay for "Dingwall Super" every day is getting old. I could track down potential basses much easier with the above information. :roflmao:

If other SJ owners are much like myself you’ll have to scale the glass embedded wall, get past the razor wire and moat. Make friends with the guard dogs, watch for vats of boiling oil and pass the retinal scan before gaining access to mine. And that’s just to get access to the front door of the sub terrain bunker with a fricken laser beam hall way a la resident evil.

A phone call to ask if you're selling will get me there, but I see your point! And given what I've seen and heard so far, I can see the method behind your madness! :D

I have spent most of the past week clicking through literally every dealer on Dingwall's website and scouring the internet for SJ's up for sale. The slimmest of pickings. :bored:

Yeah, that is very understandable. There is no rational reason to sell one, unless your name is Sheldon Dingwall.

I have 61 basses, and virtually zero time to play any of them. If someone put a gun to my head and said I can keep one bass and they are going to take the rest, that Super would be at the top of the short list of keepers. But dang, I hope nobody puts a gun to my head, because I am blessed to have a few keepers.

I’ll sell you mine for an astronomically high price!:whistle:

Even then I always waffle on the thought. I love LOVE LOVE It
but at this point in my life my focus always takes me to my long scales.

No guns John.
Maybe a back of the noggin swat and in that case it would be to suggest NOT SELLING your museum grade collection

Unless it’s to me ;)
