Ah. I thought you did. I was hoping you had another hidden gem that I hadn’t seen. Especially a Z3 6. Not too many around.
I love that AB Btw and remember seeing it first posted on the Dingwall page and loving that wood spec.
I am in love with Justin Chancellor's tone - definitely jealous of anyone who owns a Wal. droolWonderful bass, but I just prefer the sound on my AB, I also prefer the AB necks. Just a matter of personal taste.
My other "hidden gem" that it not so hidden is my Wal 6. It's super different compared to the Dingwall.
Seems like a most reasonable request.Did you post a pic of both your Dingwalls @Lowendtech ? The group should do last monday of the month photoshoots!Id like to see both yours again please
Like it more than your Z3? Wow, that's saying a lot. Must be incredible.Sorry for being late to the party!
I would keep my AB-6 with Walnut body! I simply love this bass so much. I cannot even describe how much I love the neck, I even love it more than the Z3 6-string.

Any and all resistance is futile.Yes my friend, it's just a matter of time, and they just keep getting better.

Yes, I had the AB-6 walnut and the Z3-6 at the same time. Again, I don't want to start any controversy because at the end of the day everything comes down to personal taste AND also everything is subjective, but personally I liked the AB way more. I think the Z3 had a super clear tone (high mids driven), it was really sparkly (super good for solo tapping) but lacked weight to the tone, or it could be that my AB produces other frequencies. Also I really enjoy the 24 fret access/neck joint of the AB.
In conclusion, both are great basses, but personally I prefer the neck shape and sound of my AB.
Question for the group. If you were forced to sell all of your basses except one (assuming most here have more than one), what bass would you keep?

Isn't that the same finish that we decided the other day was called 'pure sex'?Wowzers! What finish is that?![]()
I think I'm with you. Haven't played a Z, but I played a Sklar and while maybe I didn't give it enough time, I preferred the AB neck.

Yup. It’s mine now. As Ercompa stated. It’s all about personal preferences. My hands feel at home on a Z neck but can thoroughly enjoy an AB neck as well. Different combos = different magic. That AB is the bees knees.Well, I think I know the Z3 6 string you are talking about. Don't underestimate the tonal/frequency effect of different woods.
So it gets even worse. The body has been on its way from Paris to Memphis for FIVE days now. FedEx has given me no information whatsoever about where it is or what I can expect. The story gets worse! So I checked the tracking yesterday morning and it said "in transit" from the FedEx location, which meant it wasn't going to be delivered yesterday. But in transit to where? Tracking this morning didn't say "out for delivery", but instead it said "in transit". Again. But now not in Holland, but in bloody Paris! So I called FedEx and they told me that some...person in Memphis, TN forgot to put it through customs and they only found that out at the last minute before it was supposed to be out for delivery here. So the body was at 15 minutes from my house and now it's flying back to Memphis, only to be put through customs and then going back again. Will probably take another week or so. Stupid FedEx.
spent a good hour on Saturday finally getting acquainted with my NG3.
virtually plays itself....no secret to this group.
so, naturally, I want another flavor of Dingwall, and have spent half the day today GASSing.
the GAS hasn't won yet, but it will eventually, only a matter of time.

Thank you for not digging the Z as much @ercompa as I feel it was destiny for me.
My wife has longer fingers then me..... Lol
Dears:
You could recommend me a gig bag for an NG3 and that will be used to carry it inside the plane cabin?
I read that the Gator Pro GO, Mono 80 or Reunion Blues would be fine.
Thanks in advance.
