Dingwall Owners Club

Are there any Denver based Dingwall owners? An acquaintance of mine in the Denver area is Dingwall curious, but, none of the shops local to him have one (surprise!). I told him I'd ask the group of folks here to see if someone would be willing to meet up and show him the light :D

I have yet to inflict all Pickups in Series at church. As it is, the sound guy yesterday said that the back wall was definitely shaking and the sub started to clip. That was bridge only in Series. :roflmao:

I'd love to hear some more P-tone clips if people have them. I'm still on the fence whether or not to mod my ABHS. The Neck+Bridge with mini switches in series already sounds fantastic. I'd hate to upset that balance. Then again, it might just sound even better. :)

I was playing through my Vox Amplug yesterday with the tone control rolled off completely, and got this lovely, full yet punchy tone with pickups in series. This bass is like a force of nature! The clarity and punch is off the charts. I imagine a P-tone pickup could make those sounds even more amazing.

"Dingwall basses - so good you'll want to move to Canada!"

PM me. I would have to contact the person I am thinking of to see if they would be willing to show another their Dingwall. His bands tour though, so not sure of his schedule.

Remember that the P-Tone must run in series (only). You'd lose the value of that pickup series/parallel mini-switch. Consider how the Neck in series would match with the other pick up selector settings.

Lots of people love the P-Tone. I didn't feel the change was needed and prefer the flexibility of the standard FD3.

Hey guys, a couple weeks ago someone was kicking around a 6 way rotary that had some pretty bad a$$ switching options.

Is there a link on where those are available for pickup? Also, is there more than one way to set them up or are they plug and play (ie. neck positive here, neck negative here, etc)? Thanks fellas.

My AB 3x has a P-Tone with the switch and it seems to work just fine?

It's not that it won't work at all, it just won't sound AS MUCH like the P tone when in parallel internally. Actual split coil P bass pups are normally in series internally, which is part of how it sounds like a P.

Edited. I should have paid closer attention to my wording. I am a lawyer after all!:laugh:

When I solo my neck pup (FDV) and it's set to series, I get a very P-ish tone. Sounds great.
