...working on glow testing part two for side markers:

View attachment 3309040

That’s Stewart Semple’s glow powder for paint... aka the glowiest glow pigment/substance in the world. It’s not actually green... that’s fluoresceing/giving off light in regular daylight.

Will be used as side dots and lines on the fret less and after yet another night on the road last night with deplorably bad stage-back lighting, will go on the side markers of the NG.
Any chance you'd start a thread on this? Really interested in hearing your results, especially in regards to poor lighting situations. :)

Someone else had an issue with the Payson bridge not covering a hole? Different bass?

This bridge will be able to cover all the holes on my NG2 to NG3 conversion that is being done right now. I'm adding 3 FDV's, carbon pg, all black hardware: hipshots, drop tuner, bridge, s/p switches & of the course the 6 way switch.

Ah now i got it, the Payson will use the back holes of the monorail to mount. And it will cover the front holes. Maybe in the long term i will add a Paysonbridge on my NG3 or maybe not. Time will tell, but i definitly won't drill any holes in there :D

6-Way switch is on the list as well

This is what I have planned for a future NG-3 I have incoming. Got intrigued with the idea when I realised the machine heads are Hipshots. Easy enough drop-in replacement to get black ones...

Yep. I've got a few more things I want to do. The directions for the LIT powder mixing have you use 2.5 parts powder to 1 part water and mix, then add in one part acrylic, then mention to add more power if you want more glow denser consistency. I did just that to the point where it was hardly apply-able. I was probably frustrated after having a Saturday gig that had no back-lighting and I spent the night with my back to the crowd so I could see the side dots on the neck.

I'd definitely a slightly thinner smoother mix next time, and do more coats. I haven't done any over-seal or anything so if it's like the last time (over the counter glow paint) I should be able to scrape it off with a guitar pick. I'll do a final finished-re-do once that happens.

I did buy a couple cheap (2 for 10$ Amazon) mini-led black light flashlights and hung one from the tuners to 'charge' the dots/lines for a couple minutes last night and yes, they're bright enough that you can see the glow even in a lit room. Definitely brighter than any other glow paint. I also have a couple different wavelength UV flashlights that are higher wattage but compact, so I'll have an idea on what wavelength and wattage charges best.

In the end down the road, I may decide to Luminlay side dots on both NG and the fretless and I might do lines. But that's not happening soon.

So what do you think of the new Combustions? What's your favorite burst color? I'm partial to the two on the right. I was told by the Dingwall staff at NAMM that these will be hitting the streets next month!

They all look really nice but I personally do like the Indigo-Burst, the Amethyst Burst, and the Vintageburst as a tie. I ended up ordering an Amethyst Burst for myself but would really be happy with any of these 3.

I could hang with the purple. If it only came with a Darkglass pre. (but then it would be an NG ;) )

I do know people who have swapped out the pre to a DG tone capsule. I like both pres for different reasons.
