For what it's worth, I have zero issues switching between my ABs/Prima and my unlined fretless Pedulla. It's just woodshed time, and your fingers will know where to go. IME/IMO etc. etc.

For those with natural-finished Dingwalls, I highly recommend Howard Feed-N-Wax as a top coat. I first applied a few coats of hemp seed oil and let it dry for a few days. This bass has come long way since I purchased in a neglected state on Ebay 3 months ago.

I used Feed-N-Wax on all of my Warwicks and still use it where appropriate on necks and fretboards and highly recommend it as well.

Most of my instruments are 'finished' but I do use this on some of my mid-century-modern furniture and a handful of antique pieces.

From Sheldon when he answered this very question from me on the "ask Sheldon" forum on the Dingwall Site:

"We use a thin but tough polyurethane finish on the neck. The only maintenance required is a little bit of guitar polish on a micro fiber cloth every now and then." He also said that the only maintenance required was to keep it clean. He said he felt Martin Guitar Polish worked the best, but that any good quality guitar polish would do."
