It's a really lovely feeling bass and I loved its voice as soon as I picked it up. Still keen on trying a Sklar Z sometime, maybe I'll find myself next to a store which has one sometime. I've got a super P (+J) incoming in a few months, and then I'm pretty much set, except for the aspiration of a super fancy topped AB-II 5 sometime (For the weght)

I ordered it 18 months ago after my workmate jumped faster than I did at an ABZ in the Bass Gallery in London.
Thought I’d like the wenge and lucked into the finish.

Nice little Toolbox inside, the gigbag seems very nice, too.
I also ordererd a racing strap and that 3X conversion kit with a 3x rotary for my NG-2. That's gonna be a nice weekend!
First impression:
I love the contours, the flat to thick body. The finish looks smooth and classy, the headstock is finished flawless, one of my favorite parts of the D-Bird.
It is lightweight, but the neck feels nothing like the NG-2 neck. It is broader and flatter. The fretboard wood is very nice, dark with a coarse grain to it. Not grey-brown like some of the new Fender Pao Ferro boards.
Action seems good. I'll play it in a few hours over headphones first.

It sounds darker than the NG-2 for sure. Splendid pick sound, and plays really nice. Those bridge pieces are kinda sharp though, gotta be careful not to damage the bag when putting it back in. Sliding it in with the bag half open is definitely not recommended.

The bridge pieces aren't so great with hands either. I'm probably going to attack mine with a file. Would be nice if they got fixed for future models.

I kinda think I'm preaching to the choir but boy o' boy I'm digging my NG-3. It's the bass in my avatar. It's made it through a couple of gigs and it just works. I generally pair it with a Darkglass Microtubes 900 into a Genzler Magellan 212T. This rig is meant for each other. Tons of tonal options, super flexible.
The NG-3 has to be one of the best bang for your buck basses out there. You all have some really cool looking Canadian models but I am super happy and content with what I have.

I must ask about NG-2 vs NG-3 pickup configuration. I was planning to buy the NG-2, but the store I was gonna buy it from is out of stock for now. There is another place where I could buy the NG-3, but I'm hesitant if the option where bridge and middle pickup are in parallel + series with neck pickup is actually better than what the NG-2 offers(bridge and middle pickup in series). On top of that...I kinda prefer the look with 2 pickups over 3, but that's semantics, not really important...
