I think the DG would require additional routing under the pick guard to make a space for the capsule. There just isn't room in the stock cavity...

My guess too hence my suggestion of possibly going with the stackable 3 band glock. Of course the 2 band is still a fantastic option

The DGTC is really just a flat PCB. Not a lot of room needed.

It appears that DG has decreased the size of the capsule. The one in my 2016 NG-2 is more of a cube, hence my previous statement.

Yep. The DGTC is pretty small these days. While the pots that come with it for their harnessing system are single, you can easily use stacked pots. My Combustion-fretless-Piezo project has the two mid controls stacked and the bass control separate.

Here's the current sitch in the Combustion. YOU can see that the DGTC is thin enough to sit on top of the 4 way switch and a second preamp board is also in there...the white thing is the Graphtech preamp that's been covered. You can also see that the volume pot is now a push/pull as is the last pot on the right.

Yes, at one time they were like that. I'd imagine that they realized they were losing sales due to space constraints.

Mo is part magician to be able to fit all those electronics in there so neatly! Are you still waiting on fresh parts for the piezo system?

After months of research and hunting, I finally found an almost new SJ5. It plays like butter and the tonal options are simply insane. Very happy camper. I need to adjust the set up a bit, fix that B string (too much string left at the Tuner which makes it bend sideways) and will likely get a black pearloid pickguard to match the block inlay.

Thanks to all of you on this thread for sharing a wealth of knowledge, but especially to @RussT for alerting me that this one was at his local Long & McQuade in Toronto. Also thanks to @Waltsdog for letting try out his AB, SPJ and SP, and sparking the DAS. Thanks to @ab Natefor almost getting me hooked up with another one and, the countless messages and phone call. You guys all rock! (Cue the music so I stop thanking people).

My Lakland is sold. My Sadowsky is as good as sold and will now look for a Z3. I learned from you guys that you cannot stop at 1 Dingwall, after all.

Glad I could help Rocky. I almost bought that one myself. I am Dingwall free right now and I don't like it. I have had 7 and every single one was a beast. I will have another one (or 3) soon. Enjoy that SJ man!

Yeah...sigh...we're in a holding pattern while Graphtech sends a new set of saddles to Mo. The people at Graphtech were solid; friendly, with good communication, but it killed about a week as they had to verify my purchase and work through the situation. They've now sent out replacements. It'll be a bummer because Mo will have to pull the bridge apart and some of the wiring and re-do the saddles...but almost there.
