I fear that Sheldon probably gets about 19459876 of those a day from here, FB and all the other places. I think he's on the road right now too, he's got an auto-reply on his email. He does an excellent job of personally replying as much as he does.
My thoughts too. If I send him a direct email he does really well to respond ASAP. To keep on top of all of our banter on these forums would be a full time job in itself.
That is what shocks me. We aren't always tagging him, but he'll pop in and answer stuff (and everyone is
<---- wow!, not eek!). I think someone is watching the forum and sending him little tidbits. I've never bought a new bass from Dingwall (strings, parts, strap I have), but he always treats me like I just bought a Prima.

It was always amazing to call the shop on a random afternoon to ask my super important (not) question, and have Sheldon answer, “Dingwall guitars”. I’d be like, “ Um, hi” and freak out inside. It’s HIM. and you know what, he always answered my question!
Had an issue with my very first Afterburner and he answered when I called...that was fall of 2003.
I think that drive to take time to hear from your customers dovetails nicely with their drive to always improve—and I think it’s a large ingredient in the growth that they’ve seen.

Could anyone please tell me which model of Glockenklang preamp I should order for my 'gen 1' Super J to replace a possibly defective factory-installed preamp? Thanks in advance.
"possibly defective"? I'm curious why you think it is defective. Technically, the first series of Super J's had Aguilar preamps...
I'm working with a potential buyer of my bass to see if we can fix this one (which wasn't installed in the bass when I bought or) or to see if we need to buy a new preamp altogether. It's definitely missing a push/pull 'pole'. Here are some closeup photos of what I've got. I confess to being completely ignorant about all this stuff--guess that's why I prefer passive basses, lol!
