I have a 3X AB. Will they fit?I opted for Big Singles. If I was to do it again I’d go Big Single/neck Big Rig or Big Split in the bridge.

I honestly couldn't tell you. They are FD3s of the small, rounded model, in a 2014 built bass IIRC. They have the big Dingwall branding rather than the discrete corner branding.Do you have epoxied pu covers? Or can they slide off the magnets? I believe Sheldon can make the pu shells available, if I’m not mistaken, or he can send them to Nordstrand.
You should opt for 19mm lefty spacing. They can do exposed coils, or hidden.
At the moment I'm waiting on a reply form Carey Nordstrand on the status of what pickups he has that will fit Dingwalls. I should think that s/p switches can be used but I'll have to refer you to their support contact on that. They are great to work with.I do indeed. Thanks, I'll look into it. Are they a direct fit, and can they be wired for the S/P switches?
Anything but the "MM" style pickups can be fitted inside Dingwall covers. Dingwall should be able to sell you the covers needed...If you have the new rounded pickups I believe that Carey only has Big Blades that will fit. I would ask him though. I would like to see Big Rigs available.
All Nordy's have exposed poles so there's that Mo.Anything but the "MM" style pickups can be fitted inside Dingwall covers. Dingwall should be able to sell you the covers needed...
all Nord pups can be ordered with closed coversAll Nordy's have exposed poles so there's that Mo.
I just heard back from Carey and they are still working on the Big Blades. Sheldon's been very busy and they've let it slide. He said he'd look further into it today.

I have been considering a pickup swap to the FDVs, as it might be the case of the FD3s being a bit too modern for my taste. I like a warmer, more vintage/mid focused response rather than sharp and detailed modern one.
I did not know that Mo. Thanks for the info.all Nord pups can be ordered with closed covers
I have, yes. However, they don't demonstrate what's most important to me; how they sound together. With those criteria, I would even look into Super Fatties. Have you checked out the demos on the Dingwall site for comparison?

Super Fatties definitely have got some midrange growl and a more tame top endI have, yes. However, they don't demonstrate what's most important to me; how they sound together.
As I have three pickups, I need to know how they will play together.
Out of the clips, I could see myself going with two Super Fatties as Bridge and Middle, and possibly a P-tone in Neck.
I think i'll be hitting up nordstrand once my Super P arrives (still like a year awayUnder these Dingwall shells lurk a Nordstrand NP-4a and Big Split.

Does your AB have coil tap switches?...I'm having doubts about being able to get the kind of tone I want when recording with my AB.
...I'm having issues finding a clean tone that works for me.
There is definitely no doubt I'm getting a high fidelity full range tone, but I'm finding it lacks a bit of character to sit well in the mix.
...I like a warmer, more vintage/mid focused response rather than sharp and detailed modern one.
Again, I need to attempt recording with my amp and cab miced up before I make any changes, but I'm also looking for feedback from the Dingwall people here who mainly play their Dingwalls with clean tones.
For my 2016 ABHS [Edit] 6 string, I bought the Dingwall shells and had them ship directly to Mo's Shop, and they put custom made Jazz bars under the 6 string OEM covers. For my AB II 5 string (2004), standard Nordstrand jazz "soap bar" pickups fit perfectly. No Dingwall pup covers needed.Under these Dingwall shells lurk a Nordstrand NP-4a and Big Split.
