I think the abz on reverb is priced on the high side. Since it’s a music store selling, I’d call and see if there is any wiggle room. Gig bag or hardcase, shipping also count for something.

I’d also want to verify what preamp it has. And I’d want them to weigh it again, because 9 lb seems really heavy for an AB. It is solid ash, so that might be the correct weight.

At 9lb, I’d pass on it, there will be better deals on lighter AB’s if you wait.

I haven’t been able to try any of the combustion or NG’s yet, so I don’t really know how they compare to the Canadian models.

I only buy used gear. Comparing a used this against a new, retail priced that is mostly apples and oranges. I think used is a far better value than new, especially if you are trying a bass out.

Eventually, the used market establishes a fair market value and a price range. Buy on the low side of the price range and you can probably recoup the price if it doesn’t work for you.

The TB classified ads are a wealth of information for researching price and how long a bass took to sell. Great deals go fast, not so great deals sit or have multiple price reductions. You can look back at years of listings.

I almost bought it, even before I just saw this thread. Yes, the weight is accurate, which was my deciding factor NOT to buy it. It has the square Darkglass Tone Capsule preamp. The guys at Chicago Music were very helpful, and I negotiated down to $2100 shipped. At the end of the day, It would have sat and any other of my 4, lighter, ABZ's would have gotten the call that night. So..hopefully this will help someone else make a decision. If you call the store ask for David. Cool dude. Oh yeah......and of course....it’s Wenge. Not rosewood

Yeah, it's a fun one. A few thousand people. I have a much easier time guestimating crowds when they're in the 100-500 range. ;)

We've done this stage for a few years now and I have pictures each gig that look about the same...this is one of those shows I think of when people talk about playing for exposure...though we get paid pretty well for it too.

Actually, not the tightest show for us. We were having a hard time with the stage monitors...like we couldn't hear 'em. It made things challenging on stage (couldn't hear the hat at all, had to visually watch it for count ins).

yeah, that looks like one that I drooled over for many months while it was on the BassNW site a few years back. While I have pretty much determined that I am a longscale guy from here on out, if I had the money, I could see myself trying to make a deal on that just to see if I really AM just a long-scale guy from here on out. :smug:

I busted the preamp switch on my NG2. I thought I could go the punk rock route and just use some black gaff tape to hold it in the on position, but it keeps shorting out. Does anyone know where to find a replacement for it? Help is very much appreciated.
