I busted the preamp switch on my NG2. I thought I could go the punk rock route and just use some black gaff tape to hold it in the on position, but it keeps shorting out. Does anyone know where to find a replacement for it? Help is very much appreciated.

Pretty sure it’s just an on on flat bat toggle switch. Should be able to pick one up from any general electronics store, all parts, Amazon, eBay etc.

Colour options on imports (NGs and Combustions) seem to change slightly every year, but 2019 and 2018 colour lists look pretty similar. On Canadian models you can literally get any colour or burst.

I did reach out recently and learned that the current colors on Canadian builds that don't get an upcharge are Black, White, Natural, Fiesta Red, Ferrari Yellow & Ferrari Green.

I know that any decent bass can be well intonated with a bit of care, but I just wanted to say that of all the basses I have played/owned since I first began playing in 1981, NOTHING has ever been as close to pitch perfect as the NG2 5 string I bought new 14 months ago. I don't know if it's the relatively flat fingerboard radius, the beautiful setup it came with right out of the box, the fanned frets, or whatever, but the playability and intonation of the neck on this thing are so amazing. I use it mostly for worship, where I've also played my Fender Jazz and P basses, G&L LB100 and Stingray Classic--all great basses that each have their own thing going on. But I hear the most positive comments from fellow musicians in the congregation (and there are quite a few), not just about the bass, but also about the band's overall sound, when I've been using the NG2. It just seems to sit in the mix so well (I use it with the eq flat, on the parallel setting, into a Tech 21 Fly Rig on the "Smooth Tubestyle" setting), and every note is pure.

I love praising with my NG-2. Typically, I'm soloing the neck pickup and reducing the bass & low mids just a tad...

Does anyone know what's up with this bass? It was in a video clip on Dingwalls Instagram page recently. It's the same body shape as the "D Roc". Is this an option for D Bird? Or is this something new?

I've only seen a picture of a gold one (probably the same) and the Hellboy limited edition one. They both had that shape. Maybe it's a refinement to the design?

I did say that this should be the form factor for the Canadian D-Birds. Maybe?...

Hopefully! I think it looks much nicer than the original design and makes it look more unique than a typical Thunderbird. Maybe the 4 strings will even adopt this style eventually. I like it.

If my memory serves, the original gold 5-string "prototype" that that was at NAMM was sold to someone in Japan before the show was finished (may have even been sold prior to the show starting).

The gold 5-string from the June 1st clinic that @chanson posted is a different bass.

No, they are not. Sheldon has talked about 3D printing some shells, but other things have come first. I'd be ordering some if they were.
