Those warnings are for people who lack what used to be common- sense, and stupid people don't read manuals, labels or otherwise.
Obviously we need people to make sure our kids don't have lead-laden toys, but one should always assume playing with electronic guts and wires exposes you to lead.

In other news, I'm debating if I want to install a face melt switch- I have the 3X which does everything BUT have all 3 pups on, I could possibly tie all the outputs to the switch so that when off- all pups work as intended, when on, all 3 pups are output regardless of the setting.

You need a D-Bird (D-Roc) switch.

Yeah, obviously the tap test is easier since it is non-invasive, and it is also conclusive. You and everybody else should have also have a set of Dingwall tools handy. The yellow wrench with the big ball end is a perfect tool for doing a pickup tap test. In fact, I have used the yellow Dingwall wrench for that purpose on several non-Dingwall basses, truth be told. :-) That is how I figured out what the three-way mystery coil tap switch was doing on my Emperor 5.

Our latest received Combustion/NG3 basses have the 3X. It is my understanding that they switched from the D-Bird switch sometimes this late Spring/Summer.

On this blue 2-pickups model the black pickguard hides that pretty well, so it works visually.
But remove it and it becomes very obvious.

Yup 3x pickups are all I buy from Dingwall. There's just something about that config.

Dont know if its just me, but somehow I find it harder to set my Dingwall that there is no fret buzz than my "regular" 34 scale basses. I know the strings are still new so I will set it again tomorrow. Normally it wouldnt really bother me but I play thru Darkglass XU and it enhances the buzz sound into harmonics and that doesnt sound very good.

Is longer scale actually more sensitive into this because the strings have more lenght to vibrate?
