Hm. Any opinions on pau ferro vs wenge fingerboards on supers in particular? I’ve got a custom order hurtling towards the finish line and now I’m undecided.
Sorry, were you asking when I ordered it? Exactly 18 months.
Didn’t check my typing well enough, did I.
Thanks for that, I’m up to 18 months wait now and hoping to see a pic on FarceBook or something soon.
I just found out that my Oct - Nov due date now means end of November. That's OK, this is gonna be one sweet Afterburner. A shout out to Jason (@SLaPiNFuNK ) for making this all happen for me!

I think places like Home Depot might cut pipe up for free if you ask nicely.
I went to Lowe's, and I got the impression that asking them for any other help other than finding something in the aisle they were already in, was going WAY above their pay grade. I was already irritated, so I bought what could get the job done and I dipped out...
Maybe Home Depot is more accommodating??

While on the subject of changing/modding - I know it's been asked somewhere but search is failing me. Do the Canadian-style knobs have the same pot shaft width as the Combustions? I'd love to swap out the Combustion knobs for the Canadian-style ones.
Here we go. Wenge board, maple neck View attachment 3569378
I’ve done this, if you order direct they send you the correct parts for the combustion.
To answer the question no they are not the same.
I have a set of the current Canadian knobs on my NG and there was no problem in mounting them.
I like the look of wenge a lot more. That would be my vote.
Does Dingwall sell new nuts? I guess I've never reached out about it but my intuition was to go to a local luthier about that. I've had a couple brand new nuts made locally.Hmm, ok. Sounds like I should probably reach out to Dingwall.
The previous owner did some work to the nut for heavy gauge strings too which I'll probably look to undo, so there'll be a new nut there probably as well.
Was there a Combustion 3X upgrade kit? (like the NG2 to NG3 kits)
Ahhh YOU bought it!! Nice work!! It was a killer price for it too. Congratulations
I think mostly it will depend on the vibe your going for. If your going modern( I know.... it’s a Dingwall) go wenge but if your trying to capture a bit more of a classic sound and feel I’d go PF.Hm.
