Dingwall Owners Club

That was close. Thanks to the members here for confirming it was a scam. I'm very disappointed because it's really hard to find a Ferrari yellow NG-2 (or NG-3) 5-string for sale anywhere.

I just emailed Dingwall inquiring about the cost of a custom one with Pau Ferro fingerboard. I'm sure others here have custom-ordered from Dingwall before. What's the extra cost of a custom order?

Don't know if you're still looking but there's a new yellow NG-2 on reverb

I had a feeling I would regret buying this:

And I was right...

I just had to pull the trigger on a Canadian one...

Distance and political matters don't matter (I'd suggest keeping politics out of this thread). Have you contacted them at all? That would be my first suggestion.

True, this has nothing to do with politics, purely with logistics : within the EU there are no customs to go through so it's less time, money and effort in general.

If slots width is the problem I'll see how much dingwall wants for a new nut then see how I can get it installed locally.

For what it's worth, I've had local luthiers construct entire new nuts for my Dingwalls a couple times with good results. It will be an expensive job, because they'll need to order a huge blank.

Again, if this is a brand new bass, you shouldn't be on the hook for repairs. I'm sure the dealer would take care of your issue (either sending you a new nut or covering tech costs to replace) or if all else fails, hit up Dingwall directly. Sounds like one somehow just slipped past QA or had something happen between leaving Dingwall and arriving in your hands. Either the dealer or Dingwall would set you right, I hope :)
