nothing, per se. But I would like to run exposed core strings on one of my basses.
We are currently out of stock. No immediate plans to do another production run.

I ordered one, paid for it, then was told it was out of stock and was refunded the money. Then I think I heard they weren't going to make them anymore. Then they were offered again? No idea if they're really available or not.
Maybe someone else knows?
EDITED - NM, Payson answered. Looks like you can still add them to your cart, though. Weird.
I take Sheldon's advice and cut my strings to wrap one to one and a half turns around the post. Never had any problems.
Seems like there's a few of us starting to look for them again. Maybe a preorder list is in order?
Also, it took me about 4 years and a few false starts, plus a lot of research, testing and soul-searching...but I'm now a member of the club. Picked up a Combustion 5-string at a price I couldn't say no to. Already have plans to make some changes, pick up a 3X kit etc. Baby steps though. The previous owner did some mod work to the nut to take super heavy gauge strings, so I'll be reversing that and taking it back to standard.

We ran out of the black/black bridges. Had plenty of the satin, so we had some of those resprayed black/black. That’s how they became available again.

I'd say the "one and a half" rule applies to all basses. This has been the one constant thing I've been taught by techs.
Hmm no, I've had at least a couple of basses where if you didn't wind the strings down to the bottom of the post you would not get a sufficient break angle.
I do tend to favor basses without any kind of string retainer on the head since I find them usually ugly, so that plays a role of course.

I should've added for basses with back-angled headstocks. My bad. Most basses I've owned have had that, so I take it for granted.
I've been playing Dingwalls for a dozen years and this has always been the recommendation. I'm sure that it is mentioned in one of Sheldon's setup videos.
