In an unexpected turn of events, this bass might be on its way back to me.
I finally got to play my SJ5 strung with a fresh set of DR Pure Blues (Thanks, Jason!) through the rig this morning. I've been playing Dingwall nickels on this bass for many string changes. First difference - the B and E strings are tapered on the Dingwalls, DR's are not. If there is a difference in tension between the sets, it wasn't noticeable to me. Sonicaly, the DR's are not as zingy out of the pack, but have plenty of highs for me. The best word to describe the main difference is food-related. The DR's bring a bit more beef to the overall tone. Both sets are comfortable under the fingers. That's my story and it's stuck to me now... 
I have a C3 with Pau Ferro ordered (direct from Dingwall) Feb 9th, 2019. I was orignally quoted 12 months.
I emailed them last week to get an ETA, and was told that a large shipment is inbound, but hasn't arrived in Canada yet.
I'm guessing another 1-2 months until it arrives at my doorstep.

I got Pure Blues on my SJ at the moment, too. No, I didn't find my old AB-II (I did put up a Bass Wanted ad for it, though).
I had decided to go in to The Bass Shop in Seattle and buy their NG3 5-string in whalepool blue. They had two of those in stock (one white, one blue), and a D-Roc in aqua metalflake.
I decided to A/B test the passive electronics of the D-Roc with the active NG3 electronics. The D-Roc was only a 4-string, and I wanted the 5-string, so I knew going in that I was going to get the NG3... it had the whizzy electronics, and That B String, and and and...
Yeah. You guessed it. I bought the goofy metalflake D-Roc!!
I was totally surprised by the expanse of the tone shaping capabilities on the D-Roc... the four position switch gives such a broad range of useful tones, and the tone knob is actually effective at shaping tone, rather than just cutting highs or lows.
I even was happier with the string spacing on the 4-string over the 5!
In short, I learned a LOT about myself, and saved $800 to boot! (Which I will, of course, turn around and buy more equipment with...)
So nice to have a Dingwall in my hands again... it's lovely...

I was quoted about 16 months when I ordered in January 2019, so I am hoping for am April or May delivery. I guess the pau ferro board orders were held back until there was enough demand to make a run of them?

I also prefer the wider 19mm spacing. I get my long-scale fix with a 2016 (square pickup) four-string NG-2. Welcome back to Ding-world!
Congrats! I think the D-Roc is a monster machine!
I'm not surprised at your findings, when I had a D-Bird Standard, it was consistently as versatile as any other bass I had, including other Dingwall's. You can get, darn near, any sound out of that bass that you want, AND, my passive D-Bird Standard was also, LOUDER than any bass I had at the time, including other Dingwall's. If I had better been able to deal with the ergo's of the D-basses, I'd still have one...
So, just some Bass P0rn(a wee bit o' guitar p0rn) for my friends. I always kind of enjoy the "family portrait"-style of pics some of you guys take, and since most of my pics are "in the rack" shots, and I had a day off, I thought I'd try something different.
Looks like I've got room for one more...
Folks can say what they want about Kiesel, but that guitar is FANTASTIC! It's as close as you can get to a PRS without spending 2x or 3x as much for a PRS! I also wouldn't mind having a Kiesel B24 and a B25 as my mono-scale basses...

I am getting along so well with my afterburner now that I can create 4 bars of basslines, with the treble knob turned up way to much, and still, just create music on that beat. It feels good to not worry to much about chasing tone.

I haven’t played a kiesel but I’ve really gotten partial to the 6 string Carvin I have.
Thanks, Nate! Kiesel/Carvin has always made decent stuff but, honestly, after they split, the creativity and the QC went thru the roof! Folks may not like all of Jeff Kiesel's designs, but he's coming up with plenty of new ideas. I owned several Kiesel basses(and my current guitar)and they were all very well built and sounded and played well. That Kiesel "P" pickup is legit! Plus the customization options they offer are just insane! I just wish Sheldon would offer Pale Moon Ebony as a fretboard wood option, LOL! Kiesel is damn fine in my book...
Back in Dingwall land, I did spend part of our first set playing the 6er! Unfortunately, it needed a neck adjustment, so I couldn't play it for more than a couple of songs, but I was pleasantly surprised at how not impossible it was to play! I need to make friends with the neck width, but I was able to play at gigging level for the few songs I used it on! Plus it made going back to the 5er seem really easy. One question I wanted to ask, the strings on the 6er feel like a lighter gauge than what was on my 5er, is that a thing, or am I just imagining that?

That said I’ve been rolling with Paysons mostly so I don’t actually recall what the dingwall gauges are without doing the same search your gonna end up doing anyways.
