The instructional diagram Dingwall provided isn't as clear as I'd prefer it to be. In other words, I'm not sure if I've lined it up properly.

I’m using this post to say that I intend to join this club as soon as life will let me. Just heard about the Droc in another thread, and watched that demo video on the Dingwall site. Now I can’t get that thing out of my head! Man what a badass bass!

I have this on my Combustion - makes a noticeable difference (positive) IMO. I had someone do it for me however so I can't comment on the install I'm afraid.

What would 3mm ghost dots even look like? I'm trying to picture it. Wouldn't they be too small to make them look like a distinguishable "O"? But, it's funny you asked this, because I was wondering this same thing today when dream designing my perfect Dingwall. Great minds think alike!

My Combustion had luminlay with a black ring so it's quite close to a ghost dot

That template does not look aligned on the body centre from the picture

Here are some pics of mine, the centre of the hole is about 70mm from the end of the body and 10mm to the right of the centre line. You can clearly see the centre line on mine.

@xnewyorka sent me a helpful video on installing the extended reach pin.

Looks very similar to how you did it.

I can't see my center line clearly on the body. So I'm extending the center line of the neck to the body. Little sketchy doing it that way. Oh well.

I'll remeasure and compare with the final result that you and @newyorka came up with.

I’ve seen the light, and it’s matte gold.

Resistance is futile. Honestly I haven’t seen a new bass and instantly felt I’ve got to get one since I saw the first picture of a LeCompte STSS, and I ended up with two of those. Its inevitable, but I’ve got to unload a couple of other basses first. Anyone need a Rev 5L?

Spent some quality time with my Afterburner yesterday. Thanks, coronavirus and rainy weather.

Got a nice, aggressive tube tone dialed in and just improvised; chord progressions, riffs, double stops... I love this bass. I love it even more with the Nordstrand Big Splits I had put in it. With the neck soloed, it's the gnarliest P Bass ever. With the bridge soloed, it's got a little bit of a Stingray vibe. Both on? It's my sound.

I don't think I have ever had a bass I have liked playing more in my 38 years of bass-ing. Thanks, Sheldon and Co.

My Combustion 10th Anniversary is supposed to be coming next month. Seeing as how I put Big Splits in the Afterburner and Big Singles in the Combustion I already have, I'll be leaving this third one stock.

Now that I have had some time at home and on stage with a full band including Keys, Piano and violin as well as Guitar, Drums and many Vocalist here is my report.
These Payson Nickleround strings are fantastic.

A touch higher tension than the Dingwall strings but not much. Was not sure of this at first, but it actually allowed the string action to go even lower, making my already light touch to be even lighter. Unexpected side effect for the positive once adjusted. No other adjustments needed, they fit the nut and bridge perfectly.

They also do solve the issue I and others have mentioned of many string manufacturers, the D .65 and G .45 strings sounding thinner than the lower thicker strings making them strings not as full sounding. The Paysons do not go thinner in their sound on those two strings, they still have some meat to those higher notes.
The E on the second fret of the D .65 string sounds just as deep as the E on the A .85 string seventh fret.
Payson managed to get their strings even evener sounding and feeling than Dingwall.

Of course my low C rang out loud, looong and clear filling the room with the note as well as the vibrations.
Fantastic product @Blues Cat and super fast shipping.

Oh, ya... 5 string Combustion regular 3 with DB switch.

Guess what showed up TODAY! THAT is some crazy fast shipping! Thanks so much!

Unfortunately, it was all for naught, since EVERYTHING has been cancelled. Oh well, at least I've new strings for when we're back in business...

HELP !!!!!!!!! I just received the 3X upgrade for my NG2, and with it came the 3X selector switch. I don't like that I can't have all 3 pups on at the same time ! Should I switch to a D ROC switch, or is there another switch, like maybe a 5, or 6 position switch I can go to that will give me more options ? Please excuse my lack of knowledge on the electronics involved, such is the case ! Please, any of My fellow Dingwall brothers that have knowledge on this subject , PLEASE help me out here !!!!!!!!!! Frustrated bass player in PA.

I'm a 4 string guy. I have a Super J that I bought in 2009 and it's been my number 1 bass ever since. It's olympic white with brown tortoise guard. Wenge fretboard.

One of my dream basses from Dingwall (there's a few), which will be the next one I order will be another Super J. Going with an inverted look. If batman had a bass this would be it...Natural to black burst ash in satin body. Matte black neck and headstock with all black hardware. Matte black pick guard as well. Fretboard will be birdseye maple. Thinking about black ghost block inlays, speedo bars, or ghost dots as you mentioned. Haven't decided yet. I would have to do more research into the pickups and which system and how many.

@NaH is 100% correct. The D-Bird/D-Roc switch will give you the "all on" option. That's my go to setting, and I love it! A 6-way will also give you that and a few more option, but it'll be an aftermarket switch.

Although the "all on" is my preferred setting, and I wouldn't change it, I would have paid a few extra bucks for Dingwall to install a 6-way switch.

That bass sounds spectacularly dark, and I LOVE it! I totally dig the blacked out necks on my ABZs and, as soon as I refill my coffers, my NG-3 is getting converted to all black hardware! I'm digging where your head's at...
