That Z sounds great!!

The price on the SJ seems a bit off, though...
The Super P i have on order (ETA September 2020) has pretty much everything that bass has other than the birdseyes board (i have a wenge/wenge neck) and the parallel/series switches, and I'm paying around 4k EUR new (= ~4,3k USD)

His price on the SJ is pretty much on point. The SJ is +/- $270 more than the SP, his SJ has the upgraded Ash body, the 3X option, the Glockenklang pre, and the Birdseye Maple board. When you add in the paint job and the pearloid blocks, together that's almost $600. That bass was, minimum, $5,600. If he just got it, and it's still in like new condition, $5k is actually a pretty decent deal for that bass...

Ya, just to be clear, I wasn't trying to talk about the asking price. It is what it is, and if someone likes it, they can pay for it and have a sweeeeeet SJ in their hands very quickly.

I’m not trying to sound like a dick.
It’s an amazing bass at a fair price IMO. And yes I’d love to have it sent my way. if I was selling it that’s pretty much where I’d put it but the mention of the $8k build is simply wrong as a few of us know, even by CAD dollars.... and I should probably just keep my mouth shut on the fact but for those that don’t know I don’t think they should be scared away from a build consideration for to a misinformed price point.

To be totally fair, the $8k price he mentioned wasn't an arbitrary, made up number. If you go by the 2018 MSRP prices, the total would've been a few bucks shy of $8k, so I get where that number came from, I just don't get why he felt the need to justify his asking price which, again, is more than fair, by quoting a number that relevant only to the price guide.

Since I had a chance to noodle on a spectacular SJ5, I momentarily considered this...then reality smacked me in the mouth and brought me back. Somebody is gonna get a good deal on a killer bass.

Before his purchase this one was listed on reverb and the original seller made mention of it. I messaged him and he admitted a possible mistake....

Also having a build completed with a similar to more expensive spec around the same timeframe..... I believe he was misinformed by the previous owner.

The classifieds here on Talkbass and Reverb are my main recommendations. There are some Facebook groups that people post in, but I'm not as much a fan of that.

If there's one thing I'd change or add to either of Dingers it would be a wenge neck. I've played Warwicks for about 20 years and I looove a good wenge neck.

No complaints on the basses I have but I think they'd be even better with wenge

That's probably my one regret with my AB1 6 string. Wish I had sprang for Wenge neck. BUT, since I'm actively looking to swap it for a Z 6 string, I can hopefully amend that hah.

It would be crass of me to do something like that in a global emergency while sequestered at home. I'm lucky to be the one person in the band who's sustained a full-time job with all benefits, so my day to day livelihood is not an issue right now...whhile my other band members are scrambling to make rent and get food...

...but if they do end up putting some money into the economy by way of funds for the public and I don't need it for survival level purchasing, I can't see that it would be bad to help support some of my brothers and sisters north of the border.
