Dingwall Owners Club

I could never quite get the sound I wanted from my D800+ with any of my Dingwalls, but I suspect it was more to do with the Barefaced 212 Cab I was using at the time. Then the amp failed on the road, thankfully the excellent warranty covered it so it got repaired, but I quickly moved it on as the trust in it was gone.
I think (if that’s the cloth SuperTwin) that cab made it to me through Jason. I liked it better than the BBII that I had at the same time, but I eventually moved them both and also kept my Two10. If you ever decide to sell one of your BF 10 cabs let me know. ;) I’d like to have a bigger stack.

Insert gratuitous Mesa/Barefaced/Dingwall photo here.

Shut the front door.

Normally I can't stand sunburst finishes but that's black hole sunburst is SEXY.

Yep I'm with ya as well. I'm not a sunburst guy either but THAT one is just absolutely gorgeous!!!
Well since I was already set up taking pictures of instruments I'm listing (since I bought this thing and don't care about em anymore ha!) and you guys mentioned it I feel a little obligated to share a picture.

And I really need to get my crap together and share some of the tones on it. Excuses are like (well you know) but when I got down to getting my recording process down I wasn't happy with how things translated into my daw. So maybe I'll have to resort to a mic.

None more Black hole sunburst Then that.

Interesting. Were you able to test it beforehand or did you just order one blind ?
And if the former does it actually deliver on its promise of a bass400 in a box ?

Ordered blind.... sort of. I think I could interpret the demo video accordingly. Mesa doesn't do gimmick or false promise IMO and even through my phone I really liked what I heard.
I feel its the head I've been waiting for.
I loved the 400+ and I haven't loved a head more then the WD800( Its not going anywhere).

I love the 800+ but of my 3 heads it gets used the least and the most logical to sacrifice to the TT.

This said, I don't expect it to deliver a 400+ in a smaller box. It may but im not going into it with that expectation. I just expect it to be flavoured AWESOMESAUCE.

Yeah that sounds about right. I’m toying with the idea of moving to Vancouver so there is a chance that 410 will have to go next year as I’ll be in a shoebox apartment out there.

I have never played a bad mesa amp, but the d800+ is not comparable to a bass400 or a carbine m9, if you know what I mean.
I haven't tested all their amps (they're not super common either around here) but some were clearly better than others, imho.

It's small... but it's also the first "real" amp I've owned in over 5 years. I've been entrenched in Fractal/modeling land up until this point. I wanted something "small" and that I could just flip on and play, without dancing around presets etc. Dingwalls, M/B D-800+, 210AV... done.
I paired two of those AV 210’s with a Traynor SB 500....good stuff does come in small packages.
