Supply chain issues with getting the wenge they use for necks, I was given the option to swap to a maple neck to keep it on schedule or leave it as is but potentially be delayed for an undetermined period.
I left it with the wenge/wenge, I've waited this long. A bit longer won't kill me haha
I guess the same thing will apply to mine, thenJust got an update that my wenge neck Super P is delayed for the same reason, hopefully they can get this sorted out fairly quickly as it's not an option I want to drop.
That’s a kick in the pants. The Wenge neck is a very sweet thing. I’ve never experienced anything quite like it. Just confirmed. Mine's also delayed, but I'm not giving up on the Wenge neckI didn't get any details other than supply chain issues, so hopefully it will just be a short delay.
That said with what is going on in the world right now it's not a big surprise and while it's a little disappointing to have to wait a little longer there are far bigger issues to worry about.
I'm lucky enough to have a wenge neck ABZ in my possession already so I'm by no means hard done by![]()
Yeah, the fist dingwall I saw was either an ad in bass player magazine, or their "voice of god" shootout, and both times I thought the fanned frets sounded like a very interesting concept but damn was this bass ugly
Funny when nowadays the AB is one of my all-time favorite bass body.
Oh by the way, for the old farts like me, at more or less the same time there were ads for a boutique bass with a round body and horns which looked like actual horns, any idea what it was called ?
I once saw one on the walls of a rather small NYC music shop in 96 or so ? Just can't remember the name .. they didn't meet much commercial success apparently.
The only thing I didn’t like with early models was the maple neck heel on dark colored basses.
I shared in another thread as well so sorry for the double post if you saw it. This guys tone is too good to not share though.
Don't you now want a little tiny version of your Dingwall to put on your shelf?
Can I have one too?![]()
I can’t remember where I saw the advertisement but yes you can get them specially made to match your individual instrument. Perhaps Claudio can tell you.... the fellow in the vidI've only been able to find a Sklar on Etsy. Wonder if they custom make them...
Hey guys, I just made it into the finals for the dingwall riff contest. I'm super stoked obviously because Dingwall is Kingwall, but i'd love it if you guys could check out my riff and lemme know how you like it.
It's included in the main video of all the finalists too but I'm just linking mine so you don't have to dig, but honestly all the entries are well worth checking out. If you dig mine though, please feel free to comment as such on the finalist compilation video
Hey guys, I'm having a pair of big singles made into some Dingwall Combustion covers but I'll need the string spacing over each pickup, since Dingwall pickups are typically built wider than their bridge spacing, due to the fanned fret. Center-to-center from E to G.
Does anyone know this info? I currently don't have access to my Combustion so I can't investigate myself.
Thanks.
