Missed page 1971 by one post...not off to a good start this year lol.

I’m going to rep for ‘71 anyway. It’s amazing to think I’ve had this bass half my life. Been through three jacks, a set of strap pegs, retrofitted some years ago w/ first series of FD-3s and an OBP-3.

Hoping that 2021 will finally deliver a second, or at least an order. Happy New Year Friends!

Wow. I've never really thought of it in those terms. I guess I've owned my Kubicki for a bit more than half my life. I've got a Washburn that I've had for almost 3/4 of my life. Weird to look at it that way.

How did you fit the OBP-3 in there? That's usually a 3-band and I only see a single stacked tone?

The mid is controlled w/ a mini-pot mounted backward, access is with a mini screw driver through one of the three existing rivet holes from the original battery cradle that was mounted on the inside of the control cover. It’s a stuff-job for sure, obviously I “set and forget” and just operate as a 2-band when playing live. The rub is I use this bass in the studio quite a bit and really wanted the flexibility without drilling/adding knobs.
It’s quite unconventional I know, but it’s worked out really well.

Cool. You added the switch though? Mine's setup without a bypass. I didn't mind the 2-band OBP-1 on the Rastaburst, but I also had Sheldon's now-out-of-production hybrid tone control, so I could still have a passive roll off for the treble, since the OBP-1 is boost only. I thought about finding a triple stack, but that was too much work, then also trying to find a knob-set that would work with it.

Yes, I did add the bluEQube(sp?), It was the standard equipment at the time I did my retrofit.

Not that I'm aware of. Totally different neck carving to do that. I've never heard of AB or Z customization of neck dimesions.

Darn - I figured probably not.

For those that have 4 string AB series basses if anyone could describe the neck carve and even better if anyone has thickness measurements at the nut/12th fret I'd be grateful.
