Darn - I figured probably not.

For those that have 4 string AB series basses if anyone could describe the neck carve and even better if anyone has thickness measurements at the nut/12th fret I'd be grateful.

Probably best to try to get a perpendicular measurement across the neck at the point of the G-string, that will give you a better idea of neck width rather than nut width.

No actually thickness. With 1.65 necks and small hands the carve (how large of a shoulders) and thickness of the neck are important for me to play it comfortably.

Maybe I'll contact them and see of you can request a thinner profile when they're shaping the neck. Anyway, just brainstorming and looking for options - thanks.

I was referring to the 1.65" nut width. Since the nut is fanned, nut width and neck width are not synonymous.

I see what you mean - thanks for clarifying. That's an interesting thought. I'll check my Z3 5 string and see the difference in those two measurements just for kicks also.

21 mm – .827″

I measured approximately 1.625in (41mm) width at the nut and 2.125in (54mm) at the 12th fret. I would describe it as a thin "C" shape since it has constant curvature across the back but is thinner than what I normally see called a "C".

Proud new owner of this lovely Mopar Purple NG3 5 string. It's my first forray into the Dingwall world, and I've got to say I've never held a bass that's played better than this. I've mostly mained Rickenbacker 4 strings for most of my bass playing career but was feeling a bit held back in the music I was playing lately and decided to branch out into a 5 string. Decided to take a gamble on a Dingwall not ever having tried one before and wow am I ever glad I did! I feel like it's really opened up my playing to a lot of new possibilities. The neck on this thing is a dream to play.

Very Stoked to be part of this club now!

I've mostly mained Rickenbacker 4 strings for most of my bass playing career but was feeling a bit held back in the music I was playing lately and decided to branch out into a 5 string. For others, the great news is that Dingwall basses retain their value on a fairly-unnseen level due to high demand and short supply, meaning you probably won't lose much if any cash on reselling; so it's possible to roll these dice with very little risk of hitting snake eyes.

I'd definitely say I'm in the "fits like a glove" camp. I pretty much immediately fell in love with it as soon as I played it. The fanned frets were a bit weird at first but I adjusted relatively quickly. Now my Rics are the ones that feel weird haha. I've just played nothing but the Dingwall since I got it like 2-3 weeks ago.

It is a bit of a shame these aren't more widely available. I got mine used and had to import it into Canada from the US which kind of sucked for fees and whatnot but even with the added cost I think it was worth every penny for how good this thing feels and plays!

it is pretty crazy being a Canadian company that we are lucky to see, say 5 , Dingwalls hanging on long and Mcquade walls accross the country but for some reason it’s ok that they have a hanging inventory of 500 fenders.
