Dingwall Owners Club

I stopped debating with myself and pulled the trigger on a black NG3 6 while I had the opportunity. It's still 5 weeks out from delivery. My first Dingwall and first 6 string. Should be fun!

Not like you've never seen one before, but have to post pics, right? This isn't the actual bass as there aren't any pics posted by the shop yet. It's actually the bass I was planning to get a few weeks ago and lost out on because I couldn't commit. But hey, they all look pretty much the same and these photos are pretty killer...

Congrats!!

My Dingwall combustion is uniquely noisy among my basses. It's picking up radio frequencies and sending them to my bass amp which my other basses do no have this sort of problem.

Is there any kind of fix like additional shielding?
Sounds like a bad connection.

Sometimes a cold solder joint or a broken bridge ground can turn your instrument into a pretty good antenna.

Back in junior high, I had an original Fuzz Face for a while. When my garage band buddies got tired of jamming, we'd fool around with the knobs until we got CHUM-AM to come through my amp.

You could try a cable with better shielding properties, make sure it’s not sitting your cable isn’t in a coil on the floor, or try standing further away from your amp or any light/electrical sources.

Your dingwall is probably more receptive then most other basses out there.

I'm about to receive a new (gorgeous) NG3 6 strings in ferrari green in the next few days (I hope customs are not going playing tricks on this shipment...), but I would like to know which OEM strap lock pins are used in this period on combustion/ng models, when they are not schaller or dunlop i have to order a set asap

Are they shipping with strap locks these days? when I got my NG back in 2018 they were using regular strap buttons. I switched mine to Dunlop, which is what is used on the non-import Dingwalls.

I'd agree that there may be a bad ground somewhere in your electronics compartment. The pickups aren't single coil and the basses come with sheilding paint in the control cavity already. I'd track through the wiring and see if there's a joint that's come loose or just needs re-flowing.

My NG isn't any noisier than any of my other Dingwalls.
