Dingwall Owners Club

That's pretty much what I meant, maybe as someone to ask if something was feasible if it wasnt explicitly listed.

Seconding https://www.johnfoxbass.com/ he will have all the info you need, he'll be able to ask Dingwall if they'll do some of the crazier 'off book' stuff if that's what you want.
I have an order in with him currently and made a silly request that I was surprised they went for. Can't wait to see it.

Dingwall seems to be reeling in the off-book options quite a bit. Rightfully so, given how things are and what those things do to production. There were a couple of things I thought would be "small" on my latest Z that got turned away. Not deal breakers by any means, but like, matching the rear finish to the front and similar things. It'll still be amazing when done and I can't wait to have it. Just don't be too surprised if you ask and get told no :)

I just got home from a road trip. I haven’t had my Dingwall in my hands for over a week. I was excited to see if the honeymoon period would dissipate with a little space. No chance. I just rehearsed with it and… dang… this thing sounds INCREDIBLE :smug:

I got a package of Dingwall strings while I was out and have a set of Paysons sitting here as well. It’ll be time for a shootout very soon.

I don't know if it's ill placed or not, but, I'm still taking a ton of credit for your Dingwall :D I think your string odyssey will be fruitful as well, and hopefully help you settle on something there. I won't be too terribly surprised if you just end up back on Dingwall strings, but, the options you have in the Super series is pretty wild.

Your SJ looks awesome. Congrats on the killer bass :)

Not mine, just thought some folks might be interested to know there is a Dingwall at Guitar Center, where you can get it shipped to a store near you and play it before you walk out...

anytime you think the honeymoon is over, give it a spa day and new strings…. You’ll kick yourself for being such a dumbass. Hehehe.
Foolish thoughts.

I don’t love GC, but the 45 day return policy is certainly a nice benefit too.

Are there any hidden “features” in the NG-3 series that lets you hook up the preamp (or other wiring) differently to get a different tone pallet? I stumbled across a post in the Ibanez EHB thread where most (all?) Ibanezes have an optional connector in the preamp that puts them in beast mode. Tried it, and it definitely works. I’m curious now about all of my different basses.

Isn't that just flipping it to 18v operation? Been awhile since I've looked at anything Ibanez. If so, that just increases your clean headroom in the preamp, allowing you to max out controls and not introduce noise (which might not even happen at 9v).
