Dingwall Owners Club

Good Morning Dingwall Fans,

I just wanted to share my NDD excitement from yesterday! With the addition of the Super P, I have basically done a bass restart and will have a 3-bass collection moving forward.

Since buying my first Dingwall (AB1) I have been playing my parallel basses less and less, so I decided to splurge and get the Dingwalls I really wanted (a Super J and P) and sell the rest of the gear not getting played.

I thought this was going to be a long term project, but I was able to snag both of these recently on the used market and couldn’t be happier. I am hoping to spend more time playing and enjoying my basses than the collecting and trading craziness I’ve been doing over the past few years…. :)

Awesome J & P! Where is the AB though?

I am going to end up at 3 Dingwalls and stay there for quite sometime. I will be at a 4 string J and PJ (when it’s done) plus my 5 string Z.

I would love a 6 string and a Fretless Dingwall some day. The only monoscale bass that I have is my 4 string Stradi Fretless and it’s super dope so, the 6 string would be more likely.

I am still considering making a few changes to my J. A custom PG and potentially installing an ACG/East EQ-01. I am wondering about the pros/cons of the 4 way switch vs blend for this specific filter based preamp. Can I even swap the blend for the 4-way with this preamp? I know he took a break from TB a bit back but I should PM with @Selta when he’s back as he is doing something cool with the same preamp.

Nice!

I have my 5-string ABZ too, but (as much as it pains me :) ) I will be putting it up for sale soon.

My only mono scale basses that are left are my Fender P and J. The Fender P will also be finding a new home soon, but the jazz will stay. Not only it is a parts bass and not worth a whole lot, but I have a fretless neck for it should the need arise. :)

It is a passive, matte blackburst ABZ with the square end pickups. The original pickups were FD3’s. I swapped out the neck with a Ptone pickup and it quickly became my main player.

The bass will include:
- It’s original gig bag
- The original FD3 Neck Pickup
- Another NOS Ptone Pickup (I was thinking about trying the double p configuration)
- A NOS set of FDV pickups
- a new set of Dingwall nickels
- a new set of Kaliums

I was going to ask $2400 shipped for everything.

If you are interested in selling the NOS Ptone Pickup separately, I'd be very interested.

Excellent lineup! Looks like you're good for a while. Unless more DAS happens to creep up on you. ;)

I’d be next in line with interest in some P tones!!

Nice afterburner II in Canada !!! No affiliation
Dingwall Afterburner II 5 string bass - MINT - $3400

Something odd about this… that bass is definitely older then one year. What’s it been at least 4…6 years since a walnut neck on a Dingwall?

did I read it wrong but it says 1 yr old?

Really old pickups too. Also from the ad “3 new sets of Dingwall Custom Voodoo strings”.
I’m pretty sure that ad is way way out of date :)
