I have been searching through threads and searches and not found much about which strings people use for their Dingwalls... I have always been partial to DR Blues light strings.. not sure what to to look for the DROC I just picked up

Dingwall or Payson nickel rounds for me. They are both designed for multi-scale instruments.
The pure blues and most other regular long scale strings should fit on a 4 string (double check the winding length).
5 string is where you’ll need to look at specific brands, my tip is just make life easy and order a box of Dingwall strings

Thanks for the info! My thinking was nothing more complicated than "Huh... $135 to add on switches... sure, let's try it!" Somehow, deep into the custom order process, it seemed reasonable.Series setting on the switches works great and I'm happy keeping them both there, and using the 4-way pickup selector from there.
I also like the parallel switch sound, it's kinda twangier, it's just weird that it drops the volume so much more on the two high strings than the two low strings. Opening it up to look is a good idea, I can also mess with pickup height, etc.
if you ever decide to put a FD3 or something in the neck at least your set up to utilize the switches for that!
Pure blues, low riders, the E just makes it on Dbirds and AB four strings.

I ordered my favorite strings, EB Hybrid Cobalt Flats, for my (new-to-me) SP4 and I am loving the pairing!
What type of DW do you have? I have a couple I'm thinking of selling but I'm moving so undecided yet.
I have a Combustion model. Let me know if you have one that would fit an NG/Combustion, and if you're willing to part with it!
I may in the market for a Super P/J style bag if you have one you want to part with.
I have Curt Mangan Strings on mine right now. I really like them.
You just have to custom order XL scale for the E and B.
They can't currently do tapered ball ends. My 145 barely fit in the bridge.

Personally my favorites after trying them all (still have not tried Payson) are the SIT. They are the only ones that sound right to me....open and punchy sounding.

Round core, single outer wrap of nickel. Focus on fundamental. Not a lot of overtones. These are unusual strings, the E feels a bit rough because of the large wrap wire. Rough, but smooth at the same time. Smooth like nickel, not grabby like stainless.
I've used them on my Super 4 string and really like them. They only come in four string sets, no low B or high C options, so I've used Dingwall B's and pure Blue or Lowrider C's to get fill out.
I haven't checked the length for the AB and Dbird yet. I've been going in a very light direction and I hope to use the A-G and a pure blue C on the Dbird. Standard tuning, E-G. This will only work if the A string is long enough, and it might not be. If the A isn't long enough, I'll install the complete set and see how I like going back to a .040 set in standard tuning.
The DR sets I've tried have all been just long enough on the E string for 36.25", but the wraps on the A strings are not. They work great on Supers.
Edit: Just checked and the DR Hellborg strings, E-G are long enough to fit the Dbird and AB-1.
I'm going to try my 80-30 idea with extra wraps on the 80 in case I decide to go 100-40.
Currently the Dbird is strung with Payson reduced core A-G strings plus a .030.
Tuned in standard E-G. light and flexy, low action and it sounds great.

The pickups are hard-wired in series. Playing them in series with each other brings the Super J tone for me. Fatter than your average jazz and so refined and defined. Meets my personal definition of a 'tone monster'.
