Pretty sure they got in trouble for ripping off Dingwall a couple years back, actually. I brought it to Sheldon’s attention that a shop in LA had a bass that was pretty much a curve for curve copy of a Z or something, just cheaper looking.
The curved multi scale is called E-Scale and you can read about it here.
Yup, same company. Every guitar they make is a cheap imitation of an iconic design.
Isn't the bass in question some kind of reverse e-scale, at least relative to Oni? The fan goes the same direction, but the frets curve inward at the bass side of the fretboard, which makes a lot less sense to me than Dan's system.
I've been a fan of Oni's extended-range guitars for years. I wonder if he'd do a bass? I bet it would be killer.
Dammit, as the one who coined the name Creamsicle of Groove, I demand that any such bass I get receive at least equal billing!
IIRC it's the same company (or at least the same factory) that produces Harley Benton for Thomann.

I don't know. The E-scale is an interesting concept for sure and Oni's guitars look great. You should ask if he'd do an E-scale bass that's also True Temperment!
It's alright, you can take the title. I just call my bass the orange one. Never got into naming instruments.
Factory =/= company. Those factories just get contracted to build stuff for different companies. I wouldn't have a clue which factories build what for who.
Shaping and installing the frets sounds like a difficult task, but the fretboard is probably cut by CNC. Fret levelling and polish probably isn't much different from a regular neck.
They could’ve just called it Robins Egg Blue, like I guessed. A white pick guard would look awesome on it!

Nice finish, but blues aren't my jam, so I've dodged the GAS bullet.
Now that finish on a D-roc Standard 5 would get my vote ( and probably my cash LOL )
