You’re comparing 3 customs with a standard there so no the standards absolutely do not sell for over $3k. The only standard you have listed there is $1500.
Too bad the Craigslist guy with the aquamarine Dbird won’t ship. But if you where driving through Elk Creek, Minnesota…..

DBirds come up for sale very very rarely. The people who have them hold onto them. There is one available for the taking right now, which isn’t common.
It’s a ten hour drive for me and I considered grabbing it. I just know I am not a fan of the bridge on the customs or standard DBirds. Sold my NG3s for that reason. The single mass bridge on the Droc is where it is at!

I just saw a post from rootshock and it appears they have a new bass player.
Bill seems to have vanished from this TB scene(I often wonder if that’s the best thing for a person) and I just hope he’s living life large out there.
He was a torch bearer around here and his input is massively valuable with his experience with Dingwall.
His posts where always a constant reminder of tact.
I don’t blame you for not hanging out Bill but just know your lack of presence is noticed. Peace man

Rootshock is a great band and I’m hoping whatever he’s moved onto is equally as rewarding for him.
It seems that @CJC6 was pointing out the extreme rarity of Canadian DBirds and that, rather than reject one due to a superficial aesthetic, buying or trading for one of these rare models and repainting it would be a possible solution that could widen your search a bit. The choice of words was harsh, however. I expect that a bit of exasperation was behind it, but that isn't a reason to insult.
I would suggest for the future not posting DMs that no one else would have otherwise seen--it's none of our business and we'd be none the wiser if neither of you said anything publicly. Despite the language, there is also an element of privacy involved for the other party--otherwise, the message would have been posted to this thread.
Bottom Line: You know that your offer was well-intentioned and not harming anyone else, so just move on and don't let it get you down. Thick skin is an asset in music (and on plucking fingers, of course). But do think about refinishing an otherwise excellent bass.
No exasperation, but yes, just trying to help a fellow TB’er out. Sending him a link to what he’s looking for, explaining to him what he’s looking for is hard to find.

I can appreciate your take, mine is simple if you say things which aren’t polite or warranted the reaction will be what it will be.

Nevermind that if you have nothing polite to say or contribute then be an adult and just keep it moving. Attacking someone who didn’t attack you shows who you are as a person. So I can appreciate your take and will keep it in mind for the future. But thank you for being polite but I stand by what I did.
Burningskies was a huge help when I was building my first fEarful, and he’s been a great resource for the Dingwall brand. We miss ya Bill! Phone home!
Send an email to Payson and ask if they will make some bridges again.....hopefully if enough people do it they might make some, I'd buy at least 2...maybe 4 lol.
It would be cool if they started using the single piece bridge on the D Roc Standard 4s like they are on the 5s. I’m also not a fan of the multi piece bridges.

For you guys who have played these pups how would you compare them to the standard pups on the Droc?
I’m looking for a tight punchy sound with clean top end and good warmth which doesn’t distort.
I dont use distortion, I use a bit of gain for grit and my Sans Amp pedal but that’s it other than my tuner.
