Dingwall Owners Club

Are they still doing the edge-of-the-fretboard markers on fretless'? Is ebony the only choice for a fretless fingerboard?

My next Dingwall that I have a solid plan for is a fretless SJ5XXX, flamed maple top, gloss honey amberburst. That said, a fretted long-scale 5 may be the next Dingwall I buy, but I don't have any plans for that one yet.

Cool - I've never seen a fretless Super.

You know, I've not seen many Super fretless' either. This is the only one I could find on Google, and the pickguard really spoils that beautiful top:

NDD - A dream come true moment.

Big thanks to @AB Nate who was kind enough to pick up, fix the electronics, set up, pack well and send it to me from the other half of the country.

Also, thank you @Waltsdog who introduced me to Dingwall (oh look what you made me do)! Thanks for the lead to Nate as also!

I don't think I need anything for a while :bassist:

Hi EmptyCell. I just got my new Fretless ABII, that I got from John Fox Bass and I could only order it lined and with the ebony finger board.

It does have the side markers as well.

I had always dismissed Dingwalls as "metal basses". I am on the lookout for a new 5er, and I came across a thread with examples of Dingwalls used for other than metal. I have to say, I'm sold! They seem quite versatile. I am looking at either a Combustion or an NG3, just waiting for the Australian distributor to get more stock (hopefully soon).

So, what kinds of music are you all playing on your Dingwalls?

Praise and Worship, and a bit of Rock, working on some jazz too.

For me theatre stuff, (blues, funk, latin inspired tunes) metal of all subgenres and older rock. Used to use mine in pep band and jazz combos as well, works great.

Here's my 4 string ABZ in action doing some 90's rock!
