Sorry to be that guy, but just buy a SushiBox pedal, and your tone problems will be fixed. If you need a DI, the Finally; otherwise the Underground Accelerator is my favorite, but I've "only" got 3, the other being a Slampegg.
Idk I've never encountered any pedal that will just 'fix' a fundamentally flawed tone (yes yes it's subjective etc.) from a bass. If it ain't doing it for you straight, a pedal ain't gonna fix it. Pedals and effects are like seasoning on a steak init - like if the steak is rubbery and overcooked, no seasoning will save it.
