Dingwall Owners Club

The D-bird Kev is referring to is my old one. I can tell you I paid $1550 for it in 2021. I didn’t like the smoked chrome so I upgraded the tuners to black USA hipshots (the originals are imports) and added a Detuner which was ~$150 total (~$200 if done today). I replaced the knobs with black (about $10) and bought the upgraded black individual USA Hipshot saddles for the bridge from fretnation for $40. I also removed the decal pickguard and added block fret marker decals.

I realize most of those upgrades don’t really enhance the value of the bass, but I wouldn’t list it for anything less than $1750 or so. They are getting hard to find and the prices are just gonna go up.
Oh, I disagree, that's why I bought mine, same exact mods but the neck blocks, on a Droc

Payson is doing a 37” scale with a P shaped body.
You mean like this Fretless 5? 2018 Payson 37" scale, Factory installed Nordstrand P5, Hipshot ultra lites, Babicz bridges. Alder Body, 1 piece maple/pao ferro. 8.9 lbs. The fretless conversion was not a factory option and has been done custom

Interesting. I was daydreaming just yesterday of a long-scale multiscale precision. It's cool to find out that Payson has already made it happen.

Are you going to throw a deposit Payson's way?
Well, I do have a spare all wenge AB neck, a collection of spare rectangular shell FD3-4L pickups and I've figured out a way to retromod the original Z bridge. I also have a nice solid chunk of southern ash that's begging to be carved into a Super P platform.

So yes, a Payson order would be much easier, but I have everything I need, except time! Hopefully eventual retirement will be productive!

Just closed the deal on my first Dingwall!! Woohoo. I'm in the club!

Thanks to everyone that helped to educate me on these fine instruments. I'm a jazz player so looking forward to seeing how well this application works.

Funny, I'm from Canada but had to go all the way to a shop in Denmark to find a Canadian made Dingwall. Purchased from the Bassbuddha. Highly recommend. Morten is a great guy.

I'll put up more pictures when I receive bass in about 2 weeks. I'll post what I have from the ad.

Woods are numerous and spectacular. Bass is mint. It's a Z3 with a Buginga top wood, Wenge body line, Dual Density ash body, Walnut neck (Yeah baby!), Ziricote fretboard ....it's like an entire forest got drunk and threw up a bass!

Look forward to meeting more members from the club.

Wow! That's a beauty - you sure didn't waste time in the shallow end of the pool...
