My only Combustion experience was with a sweet blue NG-2. I made the Darkglass pre work, but I would have preferred the EMG. Enjoy trying to play the frets off of yours!

Beautiful.

I'm preferring passive. I think it sounds best, it has slightly more growl and detail.Beautiful.

Funny, I'm from Canada but had to go all the way to a shop in Denmark to find a Canadian made Dingwall. Purchased from the Bassbuddha. Highly recommend. Morten is a great guy.
I'll put up more pictures when I receive bass in about 2 weeks. I'll post what I have from the ad.
Woods are numerous and spectacular. Bass is mint. It's a Z3 with a Buginga top wood, Wenge body line, Dual Density ash body, Walnut neck (Yeah baby!), Ziricote fretboard ....it's like an entire forest got drunk and threw up a bass!

What's up with those pickups though? Never seen anything like that on a Dingwall!
My ABZ can deal with pretty much any musical situation, it's started pushing out all my other basses. That Z should be perfect for you!

I asked Morten if there was a spec sheet but he told me Dingwall doesn't send them with a bass. Even if you give Dingwall a serial number, they didn't keep records. Is that correct?

Yes, the pickups. When I was looking at past Dingwall ads in the classifieds, I kept being drawn to Z3 models that seemed to be made in 2011-2014 with these skinny pickups. Like this ad from AB Nate:

I just figured these pickups were an earlier version of what is being used now? Maybe someone can tell me?
Not sure, but I like the aesthetics of these pickups better than the current wider versions. So I looked for one that had these model pickups.
Again, I'm 4 days into the brand...I know nothing! Lol.
I had a Z3 with that pick up arrangement. If I remember correctly they were Super fatty pickups. They provide a great range of tones - I’m sure you’ll love your first Dingwall. Congrats!
My former ABs, which I acquired used, certainly came with little cards containing their specs.
I’m pretty sure Dingwall keep an archive. They were able to tell me the exact dates my ABs were completed.

I have a Sklar from that era (2010 ship date) and it has 2 SF pickups down at the bottom. I dig the way your 3rd pickup is a touch higher so you can choose the MM or J configuration. Congrats!

Those aren't ferrules, they hold the bridge base plate in place.

I had my AB2 built in 2010 and the workshop knows all about it. It did come with a specs booklet and Sheldon's initials on the instrument. I contacted the shop last year with a question, gave them the serial number, and they had all the history...
