I bet the next NAMM video will be of a headless Dingwall. This has to be the year!
Trouble is.... a headless Dingwall would require a near impossible to build bridge which will have to be slanted to cope with the multiscale layout, I can picture the tuning machines to probably stick out of the body 3 to 4 inches, so in all honesty, I just can't see it coming any time soon.

I don't think I've seen any discussion of new pickups in the works. Curious what you'd want from humbuckers that the current pickup offerings don't cover.
More low mid push with a clean, tight, crunch like EMG DCX or even the music man duals
THE EMGs pair beautifully with the DGTC
I love the FD3s but honestly a true set of humbuckers vs the traditional P layout would offer quite a new sound in the Dingwall spectrum IMO

I wonder if Nordstrand could put humbuckers in their Dingwall-shaped shells.
It may be worth a look. EMG said they don’t think they could pull it off. I have thought about getting some guys for 2 x EMG DCX and building a ramp for my 3x models. I’m sure there is space in the wood, just not under the individual shells.
I put that in this guy for a bit but ended up pulling the BQC and putting a DGTC in.
The BGC is great! I love the brittle edge of the DGTC.
MY Spector forte has EMG DCs and a DGTC and it’s also a great pairing. Just not as open as the X model pick ups. It does do a very good job though of sounding amazing
The John Taylor model mentions a Rupert Neve preamp. Before we assault John Fox and Fretnation with questions about getting one of these preamps in our upcoming shop builds, does anyone know if we can?
It doesn’t look like we’ll be able to - Neve doesn’t list an onboard pre as a product offering and the number they made for Dingwall is probably very limited.
A Neve onboard preamp would really be something else. The studio grade Neve 1073 is a godsend, and a bass guitar preamp based on that device would likely be remarkable.

The Sheldon interview with the Captain addresses this. This will likely be the only way to get that Neve pre and this is a limited run of basses.
I had heard from someone at EMG there are no current plans for Dingwall geared pickups, but it sounds like the more people ask they would consider it. I was informed they are working on bass pickups that would work with Aguilar/Bartolini shaped routs.
I've been jonesing for a truer MM sound... I played one of the more recent short scale Stingrays and my god did it have that signature punch. I want that in one of my Dingwalls!
Mine has reached Sweden only today. It's on the other side of the country, I hope it will get here this week
