@Blues Cat - do you have prices for the bridges yet? Will installation require drilling new holes?
All the talk I’ve seen has said the installation requires routing not just a drop in or drilling new holes. Jason at Fretnation has made a number of comments on the Facebook pages indicating that it’s not a simple swap.

I've owned (in order), an NG2, D-Bird Custom, ABZ (x2), and D-Roc Std. I really missed and regretted selling my Canadian D-bird, so when this one popped up in the classifieds, I jumped. Sun going down, so bad light. I'll take some better pictures, but this is the combo for the new band for sure.

Woo hoo! Payson has medium-scale sets available again.
I jumped on three fresh sets, but like I told him, am not putting them on right away as the ones I bought last year still sound fantastic.

I got in touch with Dingwall about my Afterburner II and I got kind of... Surprised.
I gave them the serial number and they told me three things. It's an older ABII from 2004. Sure, great. That's awesome. It has a maple neck and fingerboard - yeah, that checks out. I can see that with my own eyes.
What surprised me is that, according to them, the top on this bass is bubinga. So it would be a walnut body and a bubinga top? Under the paint, I guess?
Is that a thing? I don't think I've ever heard of that or seen painted bubinga before on any bass.
They did tell me the older basses have incomplete specs, so I'm not sure what to make of this.
Thoughts?

Interesting! You would be able to see whether it’s indeed a bubinga top by removing the neck and checking its pocket or even just one of the pots.
I don’t see why it shouldn’t be an option to paint a bubinga top. Of course, to me the wood is gorgeous - but I‘ve also learned that while I appreciate beautiful woods, I don’t really care too see them hanging in front of me… so transparent lacquer on ash is about as fancy as I‘ll go for myself. I could totally understand someone wanting the tonal qualities of bubinga in their build while keeping a subdued appearance.

Previous owner already had new pickup cavities routed, isn't it? Maybe a custom paint job to go with it and cover any routing marks? Looks great!
I couldn't tell you. To my untrained eye it looks untouched. Cant find anything to suggest that its been modded. But I'm not an expert.
I think rounded pickup shells did not exist back in 2004, but I'll let the Dingwall experts talk
I think they quoted you the wrong bass.
That is not a 2004. Probably 2014.
Wood spec is possible.
There is at least one in existence(in this group) that has a ABHS that is full bubinga under a white paint job like yours. @reddavid IIRC
HS stands for Heavy solid. Not saying yours is a heavy solid cause I doubt that. Just saying bubinga under white isn’t unheard of.
with it running those shells with the large writing and having a 3 band I’d place it between 2012-17ish

Popping the neck off may be your best bet to see unfortunately. Even then depending on the spray it may cover the top wood. Being painted, it’s possible it could be solid walnut. Did you get it from the original owner?Thank you. You're a saint.

I would have guessed 2014.
My ABZ was ordered in March of 2013 and delivered in October. Rectangular pickup housings, with the small gold lettering on the covers.
