Dingwall Owners Club

I never complained about quality (besides hardware, those tuners are just awful as well as the former cosmo black bridge) or customer service, and as far as I'm aware (I'm an engineer, not an economist), inflation in the northern hemisphere since 2019 (when a brand new NG cost was around 1.5k, and when the supply was pretty far from demand) is nowhere near 100%. I would not complain to pay 3k or more for a custom though.
Yeah I’ve still never played a Dingwall but have fantasized many times about a 6 string tuned F#-G. Unfortunately, I passed on a Canadian ABZ 6 here on TB for a mere $3k like 5 years ago. Lately seeing the prices of new NG’s have really solidified it as a fantasy. I’m happy with my current gear and stoked for the people that can afford these beautiful and incredibly popular basses though. Love seeing all the pictures. But with wait times and price, they’re bittersweet.

My dude, do not lose hope. There was an ABZ 6 just a few short months ago for an extremely reasonable $3.5k. Keep your eyes peeled!

F# is fun. I had my Z set up for it from Dingwall, but I put standard strings on it once I got it. I play in A standard.

I have a recording project that I work on from time to time that requires the F#, so I wanted the option.

I got a used D.Roc Std. a few months ago. It was missing the tool kit, so I'm wondering which size wrenches I need to make adjustments to the truss rod and bridge components? I've got a bunch of hex wrenches, but none of them seem to be an exact fit and I don't wanna mess up the truss nut by using the wrong wrench. Thanks!

There was an older Voodoo Prima with Cello hip for sale in the Netherlands for I think 2300€ about a year ago... I had just placed an order for my D-Roc Standard and that one hurt
Just sell off your standards and wait for a custom to pop up. Or cry yourself to sleep as you put the downpayments for a custom.

The prices are... Eh. Standards, NGs etc go for 3k euro new. That is crazy. Just crazy. You can have so much stuff for this money. Anyway...

I am not sure how world wide pricing works. Six weeks ago I did not know the D-Roc Standard line even existed. Knew of Dingwall being in Canada but Custom Dingwalls were just not on my radar due to cost. I saw a 5-er D-Roc Standard for sale here on TB. Immediately liked it so I went exploring. Turns out I could get a new Standard for cheaper than purchasing a used one out of the States once you added in exchange and the duties I would be hit with. Made in China brings tariffs. Fast forward to today and I am all in the D-Roc line. I purchased a matte black 5-er online from a store in another province, then walked into a local music store 2 weeks ago and they had a blue purple shift 4 stringer. So, I picked that up too because I loved the 5-er so much. I paid $2,200.00 Canada for each of these. Very happy with these basses. I have been a Ric player for literally decades and it takes a lot to get me off those. These Dingwalls have done that. Plus they look so darn cool. By chance, I had moved a 4003s and a small drum kit the week before stumbling upon these D-rocs. Those sales paid for the first purchase. Otherwise it would have been one purchase only.

It used to be better but with the usd being same as euro, not anymore.
Ofc used is best, but a new canadian droc custom 5 goes for 85k sek. That is painful.
