There are pros and cons to either case. The Enki is certainly the more robust option, but in my research I deemed it overkill for my modest fly date needs. The Gruv Gear isn't as robust, but it's totally sufficient for any situation I could conceive. The Gruv Gear also has the benefit of acting as your luggage to store clothes, toiletries, etc. It helps to minimize your carry-on luggage as well. It has global tracking if it gets lost, which I then supplement with an Apple AirTag.

This has not been my experience. I have had nothing but pleasant exchanges with them.

I think Zs in general tend to be heavier and ABZs tend to be the lightest basses they make.

I'm not sure how much the bridge contributes to the Z weight with the hardware going through the body.

My ABZ5 is a smidge under 8lbs.

That color combo (albeit a slightly darker green) always reminds me of Andes Crème de Menthe.

How about the depth?
There is also a thinner 6pos-2poles variant, but I don't see how you would get it work with only 2 poles, but maybe I've overlooked something.

Well, I have a Warmoth project with a CB MM pickup, but never tried a Dingwall with Barts. However, I would say the tone of this pickup reminds me most of the FD3 pickups. The FD3 have a similar sound that's kind of wide, deep, with hi-fi top end with a little bit of mid scoop. It's probably more like comparing a La Croix to a real fruit, though.

Thanks for the input. All of my Roscoe basses have Bart CB's, so that is why I ask.

CB is Classic Bass, and to make it even more confusing, the pickup I have is an MM4CBC (MusicMan 4 Classic Bass Ceramic).

Could be that @bassmahn is referring to BC cuz I don't know if there are many pickups in the CB line.

I got wenge/wenge, because (I reasoned) the only thing better than wenge is more wenge. But if I had to do it over, I'd go for roasted ash, because of the weight. I didn't know the wenge is heavier, and I love me some light basses.

Maybe the wenge gives a better response, or sustain, or something, but IMHO any tone changes due to neck wood are usually overwhelmed by differences in pickups and strings.

I’d have to disagree with you on this. I think Neckwood plays a significant factor I tone. I don’t know what plays more, fingerboard or Neck but I have the opinion they play a more significant roll then body wood. … but then again depending on the finish of the body can influence the impact of the body wood as well.

I’d lean more so to what you said on a guitar but not on bass.

No, I mean CB as in "Classic Bass" - This was just how they were labeled by Keith Roscoe when he offered those pickups in their standard line of basses. I was told that they were more "open" than the stock Roscoe pickups, and that assessment was correct... I ended up pulling all of my stock Roscoe Pickups and replaced them with the CB's.
