No, I mean CB as in "Classic Bass" - This was just how they were labeled by Keith Roscoe when he offered those pickups in their standard line of basses. I was told that they were more "open" than the stock Roscoe pickups, and that assessment was correct... I ended up pulling all of my stock Roscoe Pickups and replaced them with the CB's.

I got wenge/wenge, because (I reasoned) the only thing better than wenge is more wenge.

5 Kilos is only 11lb.

IIRC, some of the first-gen Bubinga ABHS were coming in around 13lb. Now, that's a chunky monkey!

Anyone selling a D-Bird in the near future (like aroud the end of the year when my annual bonus is deposited)? I know the D-roc is a more refined, ergonomic design, but I love the look of the Bird and would like to have one.

My ABHS with a wenge top and neck (ebony board) has a weight of 5.5 kg (12.125 lbs). Chunky monkey, indeed.

But yeah, at least according to this website I found, you’re probably right: Bubinga seems to have a little higher density (average dried weight of 56 lbs/cubic ft or 890 kg/cubic m) than wenge (54.2 Ibs/cubic ft or 870 kg/cubic m) - so a full wenge ABHS may very well be a little lighter, actually, depending on the individual pieces of wood.

So, what do you say: Wanna test the waters with a custom order? You know - for science?

I was a little bummed to hear my Z was 10lbs, but it isn't bad at all. It balances well and sounds incredible.

I was spoiled by a few light weight 6s.

My memory isn't what it should be, so this is all IIRC, but...

I believe that later ABHS's were weight-relieved, and came in around 10lb. Not my thing, but not unmanageable for all you healthy types!

He's a fan of the low end tones. Love's the Dingwall especially. When I start getting dirty he'll usually put himself away from the amp lol.
He's an excellent companion, doesn't bark, friendly to everyone and everything, never chewed anything up, or messed in the house, and no shedding. His worst offense has been a rare trash rummage a handful of times. He's a standard poodle and I cannot recommend them enough.
